Yeah, didn't understand how a balanced output worked. It was explained to me by another member, I get it now.
Hopefully @nc8000 is correct.
I don't know if he is right, I did not see his lips moving
Most balanced implementations are done using two dacs, and sometimes some output circuitry to balance the output. The 8740 is capable of performing a balanced output almost without output circuitry due to its differential output using sigma-delta design. The DX90 is going to be different using HyperStream design so this one might require some output circuitry to balance the dacs. Basically it has to be designed by the player manufacturer unless you know how to hack a dual-dac player.
as you can see in this Review of the shure se846, the dx50 does not perform that well with this iem (you Need to scroll down to see the rmaa Graphs). does anyone use the dx50 with an extra amp to fix the Problem of loosing bass quantity with Multi ba-based iems?
I have been using flacs with the dx50, some i had rip from cds with songbird, others are downloads from hi-res pages, no problems on taging.
+1...I like your description, it lays it out very plainly and is what the DX50 (and DX90) needs.
I emailed JDS Labs re my C5 and they said "full" volume on the Line Out of the DX50. Waiting for my player to arrive so I can't say if that is correct.
