edit your cue - set "PERFORMER" variable per track. If not help - add mediatags to music file

The volume spikes that some are reporting, am I right in thinking that these will be gone in rockbox?

emmm... yup.

without cue, dx50 playing image as one track.

place cue file near audio-image with same name, as image. EX: some-album/image.flac some-album/image.cue

One .cue file per one unsliced image. With sliced, I see no reason to use cue ) but in possible.

If you have already sliced image - better to edit tags of audio files

As I understand cue files, they are only used if you rip a whole cd to one huge file rather than to individual files per track (at least that was how I used them with wav files on the C4)

Yes. I dont know how you guys, but I have most of the music in that form, in the form of a complete flac/ape image =)

I think most have one file for each track. I only used one file per cd with cue as that was the only way to get gapless on the C4

It's just that we used to see a lot of cases where .cue files would mess with the DX50 - causing reboots, freezes and other issues.

Have >60gb flac images with .cue. 128GB SD flash drive. Use DAP every day. Never had a reboot or freeze or something else. Used firmware 1.2.7 and 1.2.8
