The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.4 - January 24, 2016 - Page 797

I would say the C5 + DX50 + DUNU-DN1000s are a bit too bassheavy for me. I would say I'm a borderline basshead, and still think its a bit much.

I've managed to draw at framebuffer, output sound and capture keys/touchscreen events at dx50 using simple cpp code in ndk.

Is RockBox still only 16/44 or can it do hires now ?

Is the C5 and that lineup even necessary? I use the DX50 with the Dunu and love it.

This thread is extremely long and I've only read  a few last pages.

The DX50 has a digital coaxial out.

Therefore it can be used as  transport. (This, of course, defeats the very purpose of a portable DAP).

Anyway, I've got an  ODAC  which has an USB input only so I wouldn't be able to hook it up with the DX50.

I'm  curious, whether  there are any portable DACs with coaxial in:tongue_smile:

Ibasso D12 would be an obvious choice

Doesn't matter. You can't hear anything above about 20 kHz (40 kHz sampling frequency) and you need only about 13-14 bits worth of dynamic range for most music, so Rockbox is already higher fidelity than human hearing goes.

its not about the frec response, is about the frec sample, so the 24bit is better than the 16bits due the larger "word" of instrucctions contained and 44k is the real sample taken from the analog wave

more samples= more acurate

the 44khz vs 96khz is quite a lot dif, also you have o have a good equipment to notice

on my dx50 - mdr-ex600 you can notice, where i can tell big time this changes sin on my b&w 803

I guess if your equip is capable enough, go for the 24bits studio quality

happy listening

I do love the atmospheric bass the C5 gives with the dunu. It does get overbearing at times, however, I still have the Pre-Dec-13 C5 with the one switch Bass boost. I'm looking to upgrade to the stepped bass-boost the C5 now have once they receive the parts for it. That should be the definite sweet spot.

You just used 38 words to NOT answer his question. If you want to debate 16 bit vs. 24 bit, bat ears vs. dog ears or flac vs. ogg, please do so in the sound science forum instead.

Obviously there can be debated

Hello,
This is regarding the volume spikes,I have noticed when this occurs , and I have had it happen several times on all updates, that the player freezes and I have to reboot? You would think they could isolate the problem!mad.gif That is why I stated I would never Pay $400 + for the DX90 with this firmware.
