Work from directory browsing. I had one sample file that did not show up but the other three did so might have been a resolution it could not recognize because the file name had no issues whatsoever.

DSD is nice but for me rather useless due to it's scarcity.

Thanks.

I tried 1.2.2,.6,.7 and finally 1.2.8. I think I heard some distortions on .6 and .7, so settled on 1.2.2 as most satisfying firmware version. 1.2.8 I guess just enhances 1.2.2 even further, while it does not present any hint on sibilants previously heard on 1.2.2. Plus soundstage which gets bigger, texture and overall tone control. It most obvious on DSD records. I think you should try and compare to 1.2.2

SACD iso files can be converted to DSD records (basically DSD stands for codec).

I put the DSDs on the internal memory.  .DFF is the format for DSD?  According to the site I got them from, they are a .dff file in 128 and 64 versions, neither of which have been found in directory view, out of three different files.

Here you go, guys - it's the 1.2.8 firmware, sporting DSD support AND some sonic changes that I believe most of you will enjoy ;)

Grab it while it's hot: Http://www.sorensiim.dk/stuff/DX50V128.zip or http://www.ibasso.com/download/DX50V128.zip

Knock yourselves out, this is a good one.

its funny! We need to do a proper experiment with iBasso!

They have to release the same FW and only change the version on the compile... and put a couple of people (even one person will work I think) to say the the sound is different :) I bet that half the forum will hear a difference :)

Now even if there is indeed a difference and you have good ears (I personally have faith on you as I really like my new Amp!) for some people will be just the effect of subliminal suggestion :) :) hehehehe

JK!

.DSF files play. If you are using this utility to extract .dsf files https://code.google.com/p/sacd-ripper/source/browse/trunk/readme

use "-s" instead "-p" which by default extract Philips files (they should be Sony .DSF), e.g.:

./sacd_extract -2 -s -c -i"SACD_ISO_name.iso"

I downloaded FW 1.2.8 to my dx50 but it still keeps saying 1.2.7 in my settings. What am I doing wrong?

so, .DFF does not play but the .DSF files play? how do I change them to >.DSF? I'm kinda at a loss when I open the link :D

If you got a Windows PC you can use dbPowerAmp, it allows the conversion.

Found a codec for it, here is the link : http://www.dbpoweramp.com/beta/dBpow...c-DSD-SACD.exe

@musicheaven, how is your tour toy X5 compared to the DX50? Which one do you prefer?
