The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016

I'm pretty damn happy that the freak idea I conjured would turn out to be such a success. Bugs aside (Seing as they're all pretty damn minor, imho) it seems that Ibasso has a MASSIVE hit on their hands.

Mine did the volume thing only once, turning the volume all the way down. This was on 1.1.6 and it actually happened while a coworker was using it.

Ibasso is reportedly working on a case. Looking forward to it, even though I'm considering wrapping mine in faux carbon or something like that.

Btw: I find the file sorting bug to be the only really annoying bug left (for my uses) and Ibasso is hard at work on it, might even have it fixed in the next firmware update

That's encouraging! I have those slip mates and some bands I could use for the time being, i'll  be pairing this with my pair of Westone 4R's and some GR06s

Anyway bro.. I paired my dx50 with brainwavz b2, do you think i need a portable amp?.. I'm eyeing to fiio e12 and jds c5.. Does it make any sq improvement?

Don't get the Fiio E12 for use with the DX50. I remember someone recommending it, but I personally cannot recommend it (which is annoying for me, since I purchased one a month before I purchased the DX50, but there you go). The DX50 has enough power for my headphones, admittedly they are not hard to drive, and the DX50 by itself is much clearer and more defined. With the E12 I get a muddiness of every detail, and the bass is also a bit muddy - it makes the bass boost somewhat unusable as well, because it creates too much bass. With my J3, the E12 was great.... with the DX50, not so much. YMMV however.

Is it me, or does the DX50 have trouble correctly driving > quad-driver-IEMs? The 2 BA IEM BA200 sounds really nice from the DX50. It doesn't sound worse, then when connected to my audinst hud-mx1. But my 4 BA cIEM the BA4f, sounds fairly bad on the DX50. Very small soundstage, overall less clarity and seperation compared to my audinst hud-mx1. But the closed headphone from german maestro sounds good through the DX50 albeit a little bright.

I'm really itching towards buying a good, small portable amp with for the DX50. I'm looking mainly at the iBasso D-Zero and C&C BH, does anyone else have some input on the matter? No >$200 amps please :)
Oh, and if anyone knows of a Europe based seller, that would be awesome. Sorry for derailing.

westone 4r works quite well with the dx50.i think sts not about how many drivers inside, but the resistance and sensitivity.

for the amp, some users suggested that the C&C BH is quite good.
I'm now using BSG cmoy which is well enough to add a touch of forwarding mid and deeper bass response for my 4r.

Nope, all my headphones have about the same resistance and sensitivity.

Thanks for your reply though. And that BSG is a bit too big for me.
Funny how the 4r works well with the DX50, what's your reference setup?

Can DX50 work with cypherlabs class r or class db? Since it has a coacial?
Also, does dx50 micro usb work with dac via usb otg?

I thought class db only does coax out but wont take coax in....
dx50 does not support usb audio out.... also..

My DX50 is doing great with my 8 and 10 BA ciems, I have the 4 BA 4.Ai as well, I'll give those a spin later.

This is really interesting, I think this is gonna be a hot item here for DX50? I think only 2 more days left, for USD12, I would pledge for it instantly! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/andyfei/mini-microsd-reader-for-android-smartphones-and-ta

opps, it was long overdue. didn't realize it from my phone, and now I've edited this post to correct it. But it is still selling for USD12 here as official product! :https://shopmeenova.appspot.com/st/order.html
