The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.2 - Page 976

Pffft.  didn't read the date on that, Coil.  sorry 'bout that.

Well, tried applying one of the screen protectors and stuffed it.  Could have sworn there was not dust around and STILL got particles underneath.  Murphy's Law with applying these damn things.

Someone here gave good advice. Go to bathroom, turn on hot water and let it run. Steam will "absorb" flying dust particles. Apply with one edge first and same time moving with bank card (covered with thin soft cloth like eye-glasses cleaning cloth) from that 1st side slowly to another. I managed to apply 2 times totally clean without bubbles ;)

So far I think Vikuiti M3 DQCT130 are best protectors: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3x-Vikuiti-DQCT130-screen-protector-from-3M-for-iBasso-12th-Batch-DX50-/191280041729?pt=UK_MP3_Player_Accessories_Screen_Protectors&hash=item2c892dcf01

Better than Savvies SU75 because finger slips slightly better on it. There`s about 0.4mm missing from all sides like with all the other protectors I`ve tried but it doesn`t bother me and they are still good.

Some other accessories I recommend are:

Hi, i´m new to the ibasso DX50 and have an question about the coax-port of the DX50.

Is it true that the output stream of the coax-port only gets me an mono-signal?

@BigDave

Or use tape to remove the dust particles. If you see one, lift the protector then use a quality tape (maybe 3M) to get the dust out and hopefully won't leave any sticky residue

I can't find my coaxial cable that came with the DX50 & it's not listed on the ibasso web site.  Anyone know where to buy one? TIA

Hi Diy-guy the Ibasso coaxial cable is a 75ohm resistance cable terminated with unbalanced RCA (phono) one end and mono (single channel) 3.5mm mini jack the other. Because the signal is digital it does not act in the same way as an analogue cable. Spdif supports a maximum of 2 channels.....yes definitely stereo!

HI zzvelik, if you can solder just buy a standard 75Ohm SPDIF cable terminated with RCA connectors. Then get yourself a good quality gold plated 3.5 mm Mono jack plug (Neutrik REAN NYS226BG)  and replace one of the RCA connectors with it. If you are not up to doing that, send Ibasso an email,  they will probably provide you with another official cable at a small cost (I would like to think)

Polyrhythm, thanks for the tip on the DIY.  I may get a friend to do one for me if I don't hear back from Ibasso.

Please share any info you get from iBasso.  I am also looking for a shorter rca-3.5 digital interconnect and have inquired about it here and on the dx90 thread.  Some people said they got custom cables done, so I may hit up Ted at headphone lounge.  The included ibasso interconnect is too long for a portable stack....

Blue Jeans Cable will make you one. Not too expensive either. I paid <$20 for a three footer. Just order the coax digital audio cable and note you want it terminated in a 1/8" TS connector.

is anybody using Dx50 - the intruder - Odac combo?

What is your impression please.  Right now, I don't have Odac, I'm curious "is this combo work? or not"

Thanks

I don't think anyone is using that combo. There is no way to hookup DX50 to ODAC without some sort of SPDIF to USB converter.

I forgot to mention, the cheapest way of doing it is simply to purchase a SPDIF cable termited with RCA (phono) both ends. Then just grab an RCA to mono 1/8'' (3.5mm) adapter like this (search on ebay):

Female RCA Phono to Male Mono 3.5mm Jack Connector Adapter Converter Gold

It will works equally as well, (I use this method when I need a long cable)

Save yourself a few pennies!

Shouldn't pay more than $8.00 for a good quality 3ft cable on ebay.

and the adapter is around $1.50

To everyone who has problems about Ibasso freezing during playing FLAC files from mSD card, change the SD card. I've had SanDisk 16GB c10 mSD card and my Ibasso kept freezing at random times, since i've changed mSD card, probremls are gone.

I'm not saying that SanDisk has bad memory cards, but this is the 3rd card that is not working correctly and i'm staying off SanDisk for now.
