I just received my dx50 from Fedex and immediately updated to 1.2.6. I had some issue connecting it to my pc with the cable they provided. I used my samsung galaxy s4 cable and it worked like a charm. It recognized instantly. The build quality is solid.
The accessories isn't that great tbh.. use what you have instead of those it came with.
I loved the simple UI, but it is a bit laggy. The touch screen is a bit too sensitive. It plays all my files and loaded all my cover arts. The sound quality is great.
I set everything off(sleep, auto shutdown and etc) except for the EQ and gapless playback.
No freeze and crash after 2 hour of usage. Media scan is quick. It only scanned when i play music from directory(5-15sec one folder)
The delay when changing/pausing/playing a song is bearable.
The only problem is play order from directory and time consuming to add music to playlist.
I tagged all my music with mp3tag and exported those music from foobar renaming file name with index. Also, i re-encoded my flacs from cue. The files are in order from 01-201 shown in directory, but when i play from directory it doesn't play accordingly.
I didn't try any of the previous firmwares, but i believe this player serves its purpose really well. Implementing a easier way to add files all from directory to playlist isn't hard. I quite like the fading effect for gapless playback as well. mainly because my music doesn't connect.
1. let the player play in order from directory based on file name/track#/artist. Or let it add to playlist in that order. (not sure if u can do this already, let me know how if u can thanks)
2. let us choose between the old gapless playback effect and the new fading effect.
Just ordered the silicon case from ibasso. Might consider getting a bigger battery too...
I wish it takes less time to charge the player to full thou.. 2-3 hour is a long time.
