As for the beeping sound, yeah, it happens, thats why i just charge mine through a usb wall charger.

i'm sure you're right, but i thought iBasso said they chose not to use Android. i figured it was some other lightweight Linux.

i guess it's not too surprising considering the A9 chip in DX50 was originally intended for low end tablets (IIRC) which are almost universally Android at this point.

probably meant they don't want to bother with supporting Android apps which is fine with me... screen really isn't up to it, and anyone who has this will likely have a smartphone as well

You are correct, the DX50 OS is Linux-based. Of course Android OS is also a Linux-based system but the DX50 uses a simpler version of Linux.

I am surprised at the run time per charge. I am getting over 16 hours. I have both the stock battery and two Anker batteries from Amazon. I have used Anker in my Samsung S4 as well and they are excellent, outlasting the Samsung battery, which surprised me. You can by two batteries and the charger for 27 dollars. which is cheaper than one Samsung battery. I am using the DX50 a lot by itself and into balanced amps and with all, I am thoroughly enjoying the organic musical sound. All genre play excellent for me through the ESW10 JPN, LCD2 (amped balanced), JH13 Pro and the Portapros (these are the phones I use most often but the HE-500 and HE6 also play and wound great with the amp system).

For IC and cable I am using a very special wire that is totally revealing, more than anything I have ever heard before, sadly and good, more so than even my ultra high purity silver, which has never been beat before. Great stuff all!

I ended up buying two Anker batteries and an external charger in a package from Amazon as well.  I'm very pleased with them - so far recommended.

how many mAh are the Anker batteries?

The one's I got are 2200mAh.

hhmmmm...just 100mAh more than the standard S3 battery. will try to observe my battery mileage before i take the plunge. thanks for the feedback!

Alright... I just change the setting for gapless to 5 seconds instead of the default of 0 seconds and the sound seems to have improved. Not sure why that would have an impact? I am guessing it is somehow buffering the playback?

Can you browse your library by letter?

I really hope that you can search your music list by means of selecting the first letter of a song, artist, album, etc. And no, I don't mean the entire list being listed alphabetically as most players do that by default. I mean giving us the means to select a specified letter of the alphabet and getting results of songs, artists and albums that begin with that letter. Curious, is this feature in there?

Also, can I be sent a link on how to update the firmware?

Lastly, do the latest batches have the latest firmware already installed?

Many thanks.

the link to firmware 1.2.0 is located a few pages back, it contains a readme file for you to follow on how to install the firmware...coming from the 4th batch, mine came with a 1.1.6. i would imaging the 5th batch would already have the latest firmware installed when shipped. because i remember when i ordered mine, people were still talking about the 1.1.2 firmware.

Can someone help me whit my DX50? I have already sorted and tagged all of my music but my DAP would only play some albums according to their track numbers while others are played alphabetically I have tried using mp3 tagger to add a number in front of the track title but it does it in a  very ugly way e.g 1Bohemian Rhapsody  instead of 01 Bohemian Rhapsody.

Even after doing that my DAP refuses to play it according to the number and will jsut stubbornly follow the previous play order of that album.

Please help thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. Still on the fence though on whether I should purchase the X3 or DX50.

Well the stock battery is so long lasting I haven't even bother taking the free extra battery from 1st batch orders out of the box.... really surprised by the long run times I get.
(Btw this is on 1.2.0 which had been silky smooth for me so far)

What firmware are you using? What software are you using for managing the tags? I had that issue, but only after i got it, it came with the 1.1.0 firmware, but after i updated it, had no issues with tagging whatsoever. Also, did you scanned the SD Card again, after retagging?
