Still mellow for me, but I like the all music list, its ordered based on title now.
Roll back to 1.2.2 or not... Confuse...

Oh well I'll give it a try, but I'm afraid will go justback to 1.2.2 if I can't stand the SQ difference. Why does fixing some bugs or adding new features has to change the SQ. (.. scratching head)

Well, maybe the whole history sound change is imaginary.

Even if I think that has been a change, a direct comparison, a blind test to my knowledge did not take place.

In fact that the quality of the sound is very high.

thanks.

sound signature did change with each firmware. also, soundstage has been increasing uo until 1.2.2. (don't know about newer firmwares)

oh, and 1.2.5. IS a finalized version of 1.2.3. beta. iBasso said that the new firmware will either be called 1.2.3. or 1.2.5.

Did you actually make the comparison yourself? You don't need a blind test to hear the difference. There are tracks that clearly sound different between FW especially Hi Res file. There are definitely tracks which have no difference at all. Unfortunately for me my favorite tracks are the ones exhibiting differences.

The magnitude of difference also varies from headphone to headphone.

So, I've just updated to thew new firmware, v1.25:)

Here is a picture of the new battery indicator for those who have yet to update, and are curious.

aaandd, here's one to the OCD members. There's a white pixel on the "USB Connected" Screen to the far right, centre-down. I am slightly annoyed. (Might just be my device with a dead pixel)

Don't worry, that's not dead pixel, just turn off screen and its gone, its work for me.

Oh really? Awesome! My OCD meter was going through the roof!

At the same location were also with me "Trouble" pixel but it disappeared after restart. Ibasso has, although supposedly published thoroughly tested again a FW with apparently new and old errors problems (OGG files).

Wasn't this battery indicator already included in the 1.2.3 beta?
Still running it and my DX50 clearly has this new designed one.

My wooden ears did not really pick up a sound signature change that is worth mentioning so I guess I don't run any "risk" when I update my unit :-P

Yeah, I skipped 1.23b so I didn't know what that was like, haha.

I've been continuing to have problems with the unit not reading my music properly (it is tagged well enough for iTunes).   Initially, when I loaded 55GB worth of music, I have issues such as some albums being listed twice - once with the proper cover art and artist name, and second time with just the album title, no cover art and "Null" where the artist goes.   And the player wouldnt read all my albums and even in the case of the albums it did read, it wouldnt show me the song titles- instead, I'd get an option to PLAY / ADD TO PLAYLIST / DELETE whenever I clicked on the album name.

I tried by loading 18 albums (about 7.5 Gigs worth) directly onto the DX50 player itself, to remove the memory card as a variable.

The player is recognizing all 18 albums and showing me the cover and album artist just fine.   So far so good.

In Album view, when i click on the album, the first time around, only 7 out of the 18 albums showed me a list of the songs, which I can then play.

For the others, I got the same 3 options again:  PLAY,  ADD TO PLAYLIST,  DELETE.

When I click on "Play", it takes me back to the main menu.   However, when I then click on the album name again, I am able to see the list of songs and play them.   Sometimes, it takes 2-3 tries, but eventually I see the song list and am able to play the songs.

However, when I fix a few of these "broken" albums this way, some of the ones that were showing me a full list of songs initially now no longer show the songs - instead, they show the PLAY / ADD TO PLAYLIST / DELETE options.

Any ideas?

I have already emailed iBasso, but I have had indexing problems with the FiiO X3 as well, which is why I got the DX50, thinking that being Android, it would work.   For what it is worth:
- the problems affect both albums I have ripped myself as well as purchased off iTunes
- it is affecting rock albums as well as classical albums with very long titles, album names, etc.
- the same albums are being indexed perfectly fine on my iPod, my Galaxy S3 and my AK100.

TIA!

Don't rely on the tags display in iTunes. They may show fine in iTunes but the files themselves are not. Get a proper tagging software you'll see the difference/missing tags

I had some issues of a similar nature. Here is what I did and I now have my 64GB card scanned correctly with no issues.

TAGS:

As above, do not rely on iTunes Tagging, instead use MP3Tag (freeware). Use this to remove all tags except for TITLE; ARTIST; ALBUM; TRACK.  Fields such as Disc number, comment etc, you should set these to <blank>.  Once you have done this for a selection, hit CTRL+S, so that the new tags are saved.

In terms of Album Art, you can use Mp3Tag to embed the artwork or just have a jpeg file called 'Folder' in each album folder on the card, either works fine.

RANDOM FILES:

Another thing that can cause scanning (directory) issues is the presence of other files on the card.  In order to remove all none essential files (the only things you want are folders, music files and jpegs).  I opened up the card in Windows Explorer then in the search bar (top right) I put in a single decimal '.' and searched on that.  As long as you have 'show hidden files' selected and 'Hide protected operating system files' deselected in your folder view options this should bring up all files on the card.  Then sort by type and skip down the list.  I found some '.ini' files, and some '.cue' files as well as '.bitmap' and '.png' files on mine.  All of which I deleted.

The above now gives me a 64GB card that results in all music correctly being categories in the DX50 database and no hangs when scanning.

I hope this helps!
