Straight from Ibasso, looks like it's a lot faster than waiting for Mp4Nation.

iBasso is faster but NO free IEM

mp4nation is slower but they throw in good quality IEM for free.

i prefer waiting to receive something on top of the package rather than miss it and i have enough DAPs at home to entertain me until my Dx50 baby will arrive, so no hurry.

what would be your decision? :p

To each his own, but blowing hundreds of dollars on an amp that clearly does not fit, physically, with DX50, after OCD'ing up and down about matching sizes doesn't seem dumb?

I was just trying to give people options. Calling spending money on a cable with your spending habits is curious.

Sorensiim, spending 85$ on cable makes sense because you might upgrade from 249$ DAP to 1600$ DAP and cables are mostly universally used in different players so no point for skimming here if you like what you hear. IMHO

Let's not continue this cable debate...such am argument is better suited for the Sound Science section...

Hah, fair point! But if we ever find a way to measure sound improvement per dollar spent, I'll be happy to put my amp up against any cable wink.gif

I tried DX50 and Quickstep today with ciems. Funny, but basically I just turn Quickstep on (no higher) and DX50 was somewhere around 220 and I'm at listening volumes. I had Quickstep in mid gain tho, don't know how much it affects the volume. I'll try that later. Sooo, I will not use Quickstep with my ciem, just like I presumed:D

Hey, not trying to sidetrack the thread but does anyone know how I can get album art to appear on my albums.

A couple of FLAC albums I downloaded shows the art no problem. I tried throwing an album art .jpg into CD's I have ripped to FLAC but the art does not appear.

How do I embed the .jpg into the files?

Use mp3tag and embed the art into the files.

Same here! I'm re-installing 1.2.2 as I type this.  I'm hypersensitve to boosted bass.  It's not as bad as the X3 is, but firmware 1.2.2 was so much better.

I also found that on 1.2.3b it was trying to re-scan my media card everytime I switched the unit on.  That wasn't the case with 1.2.2.

In addition, in the beta firmware, if you play files under the ARTIST view, the track numbers aren't displayed, and some albums play in the wrong seqeunce.  In 1.2.2, the track numbers appear, and the tracks always play in the correct sequence.

These issues (excessive bass, media scan, and mising track numbers) were driving me crazy, with no discernable benefit to 1.2.3beta that I could see.  It's definitely a "beta."  Hopefully, these issues will be corrected in the next official firmware, or else I'm sticking to 1.2.2.

That works, but consumes more space than using one jpg file per album folder.

So, to save a bit of space, another option is to just (re)name your file "Folder.jpg" and have it in the same folder where your music files are. That works well with me (FW 1.2.2), but then each album must be in a separate folder.

It only has two gain settings, sounds like you're on high gain :-)

Yeah, noticed it too late:) Oh well. I managed to listen to music without going too loud.

I guess there is not enough difference anyway with ciems to warrant the bulk. Impression is based on 5min test while walking outside in rain.Gonna turn the gain to low and test again tomorrow.

Hi,
Question about navigating with "My music". When you select "Album" is it supposed to show all albums? Mine shows all songs apparently listed in alphabetical order by album title. Ditto for Artists. Is this the way is works? I probably still prefer the directory by artist but sorting by album with artwork would be nice sometime.
Thanks,
Scott

Just bit the bullet and ordered one with the money I've made selling an old Mac. Now to find a decent priced 64GB micro SD and a new pair of IEMs to pair with it :)
