The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.5.0 - Page 316

Just updated, mine had a 'script handling error' while installing recovery, but everything seemed to have flashed just fine. First few things I noticed:

1) Media Scanning page can now be closed. there is a small 'x' in the top right to STOP the scan

2) There is a '+' icon next to the shuffle / repeat button to add the current song to a playlist

3) Pressing next song no longer auto starts the song. Pressing previous goes to the previous song in the album, not the last song played (if shuffling)

4) Shut down is a LOT faster.

5) Scroll bar is now implemented to show where you are. You can also grab the scroll bar to quick scroll

6) Device remembers the last folder you were in so you don't have to keep scrolling if you're near the bottom of the list

7) Media Scanning works! woooooooo!

8) Battery meter drops below 50% now!

Not sure if battery meter is correct, I will be running mine as long as I can and report back. Also not sure if the Media Scanning works with new songs yet. EDIT: IT BOTH WORKS!

So far so good! All the changes are welcomed.

Having trouble applying the update - getting "Can not found firmware image or invalid image. Installation aborted".  I know I'm doing something wrong but can't put my finger on it.  I'm pretty sure that I'm doing the same procedure as I did last time - unzipped the DX50Firmware_V1.2.2.zip file, copy the update.img file to the root folder of the DX50, Safely eject the DX50 from Windows, go to Settings ->  Advanced -> System Update.  Anything that I'm overlooking here?

Yeah - I did, twice for both Sorensiim's and IBasso's link.  Guess it couldn't hurt to try again.

If all else failed, try ejecting the SD card and delete anything on the internal storage before copying the update.img over.

Yay! Scrollbar is very usable, much more easier to grab and scroll than the one in the AK100/120....

Impressed with how quickly and how far they had come with the firmware updates.

That's what I did. When I just copied the update file, without deleting the lost.dir etc, it couldn't recognize the updating file.

Ok - I'll give that a shot.  Just downloaded from Sorensiim again, recharging the DX50 to make sure it has enough juice to get through an update.  Then I'll try again.

Thanks for the suggestions.

¿Did you directly extract the zip file into your SD?  I unziped directly and the DX50 didn't detect it, on the contrary, I unziped it to my hard drive and then copied it and it worked, I know it sounds stupid but that's how it worked for me lol

Just did a full wipe to test out the media scanning, and would you look at that! ~30gb of music scanned and ready to roll after about 15 minutes, no freezes. Sweet =)

One note though, for some reason, media scan doesn't pop up on first boot, I had to connect to computer through usb and disconnect to start the media scan. But aside from that, it works well!
