That would be sweet if it was available. I assume that they can affect the feature through firmware changes, it really sounds like a simple solution, however it does mean an additional savable configuration. Ths is where I wish the firmware would be available through public domain.

You need to use an external program to format an exFAT card. HP and Panasonic have such programs. All 64gb and above cards are formatted in exFAT and many computers older than a year or two cannot read this format. A Google search for a program to format exFAT cards should provide you with several more options.

With all due respect to those who have had real serious problems, at least for my purposes the DX-50 has been fine with only occasional glitches. And what's good about the unit, to me, far outpoints what is not so good.

But I have the same problems at work. We have multi-hundred thousand $ broadcast audio consoles and the operators call us to look at "problems" that basically come down to "I don't want it to work this way, I want it to work that way". But it's designed to work "this" way. No matter how the manufacturer decides to implement things, folks will want it different...redface.gif

I was grappling with incomplete scans only to find eventually that some filenames were too long for the code in the DX50 to handle (despite them being no problem in the DX100).

Anyone who's been a major software revision at work like a SAP implementation would know most "problems" are that operators want it to work like the old system and that trying to run like legacy systems handicap some of the benefits that streamlining and eliminating redundant operations produce or should produce.

Ppl should realise that any computer is a very logical device/code. Unexpected results are not random. The same input will result in consistent errors/results. The volume thing is most likely the result in a very specific set of circumstances and thus fixable. But coding is complex and most software development is an evolutionary thing. If it were not we would not be using OSX 10.# or Windows 8 or iOS 7 etc....

The DX50 likes to have its music files to follow certain conventions and if they do they will play properly. Some are reluctant including me at first to re tag and so on to make them play properly on the 50 but in effect the more conventional the tags, the fewer problems I'll have with any device. Heck I remember when I got my first iTunes experience and the things I had to change to get albums not to be split into multiple entries because every artist resulted in a different album. And Apple still does that. IBasso fixed it in their first FW update.

My DX50 seems to be much better behaved now I'm playing its game rather than asking it to play mine...smily_headphones1.gif

I don't find any distortion with my line out at 255 with my unit... (when paired with International, Mass Kobo 385, Kojo KM01, or RSA 71B).   Are you sure it is not due to the output level too high causing the amp to clip?   I think one key advantage of having variable lineout is to avoid such clipping.

Does the gain setting in DX50 affect the variable LineOut?

Is DX100 has the similar type of LineOut like DX50?

Gain setting on the DX50 affects the Headphone out only.

Quick comparison between DX50 & iClassic 6g
(Low gain, ER4P)

DX50 neutral to bright, iClassic neutral to warm.
DX50 has a wider sound stage, more 3d, good depth, and fuller sound than iClassic.
DX50 has more detail, smooth, good separation, good speed, good tonal, good timbre and ambience. Can perform complex music so good.
iClassic has more bass, DX50 has tighter bass.
Booth has a good impact.

One thing I noticed when paired my ER4P to DX50, I feel my ER4P has no treble "cut" as I feel on my iClassic.

Its my personal impression, sorry for bad English.

I mean the volume is controlled by the volume knob on your amp instead of DX50.

You still can control volume on the DX50 as well as the T1. As suggested by Sorensiim before, I put the volume knob of the T1 midway and just adjust the volume on the DX50. Never tried maxing-out the volume as my current setting of 200 is already loud ( by my standard at least wink.gif
