What a pain it was to solder the cable. Also it is painful to scroll down every time. It is heavy.

I truly love it.

Well done RAFA. Thank you for reporting back.
How long did DX50 take to read 500GB? I assume it plays reasonably well?

Working on a full review...
Should I start a new thread or post it here?

You could post it here and let it get linked in the first post.
Oh and you could write one in the headgear section.

I was thinking to do this since this one might get a bit crowded...

The interesting thing is that the DX50 does not ask me to scan the HD, so it only scaned its internal storage.

It takes some time to start playback, when switching folders. Inside the folder/album the trackswitch ing is okayish.

In that 500gb I have all my Flac albums smily_headphones1.gif

Sadly every Time I want to change the album, I have to scroll from the letter A. (a well known bug here).

The cable is too ugly. I will have to find another solution.

For anyone that is ordering a DX50 and considering EMS, I would suggest using DHL. Now I have to wait even longer to receive my DX50, I hope my wait is worth it.

Weird - mine was delivered quickly to the UK without issues by EMS

That's because EMS doesn't scan for every product to confirm they are what they written to be. Last year before Japan Post adopted the the then-new IATA rulings, one is not supposed to post anything with batteries inside. However most of the times a person was able to banking that the post office won't scan and open up the package prior to departure. At least in Japan it was a complicated process of having to fill in the form, pay for the postage back from the post office back to your home, to retrieve the package back.

Back then too, only FedEx accepted small packages with batteries. DHL nor UPS didn't.

As of 1st of Jan 2013, EMS would accept items with batteries from certain post offices only - those that had been trained to accept (what training is required!!!??!?!?). I don't know about DHL nor UPS.

Therefore this is really up to each county's post office laws and if so, what are the guidelines needed to be followed. I'm not familiar with China's EMS but it sounds like officially they're not supposed to and gav007's package just happened to be the unlucky one that got scanned and inspected.

As for the DHL alternative, best to have iBasso call them up to officially confirm that they do too.
