Line out jack instead of headphone out jack?

Regarding headphone choice: take a look at the winter gift guide and the buying guide in the Help and Getting Started forum area.

Any recomendation?

maybe stick with the X3?

thanks All!!!

I use the DX50 with my Fostex TH900 a lot and it has great drive and dynamics. I don't understand the comments about bass, as on my dap, it goes deep and well controlled. The button on mine are a little shiny because I have used it so much and they are fine.

Have had my DX50 for 4 weeks now, it shipped with FW 1.2.6.

Paired with a set of RHA MA750 iems.

I fell in love with the sound straight away, but now with the new FW 1.2.8 it sounds so much tighter, punchy, spacious and ear enthralling to me.

The UI is very fluid now IMO.

Build quality excellent IMO, no button issues for me, but could be too early to tell admittedly.

I don't think you would be disappointed. But I don't know how it would sound with Sony ex600.

I have the DX50 and the X3, I have not listened to the X3 in over a month. I have never used the front buttons or had any problems with them. If you can afford it, the DX50 is a more refined DAP, IMHO.

Cheers,
Shawn

See if you can locate an Audio Technica ATH AD900  Pairs well with DX50 with or without an Amp.

I use the Bowers&wilkins p5 and l love it from the beginning .
Some people asked for a little more bass after the 1.28 update ,but personally I like just the way it sounds now.
I think when you matched your ibasso with a good headset you don't need anything but a good sofa to listen and relax ...

Thanks for your feedback, im ordering one with the silicon case for protection.

i was on an x3, great device, chunky UI but you get used to. Sound wise is quite punchy and powerful, also can sound very loud, how can it be compared to the dx50?

I listen at low volumes and sometimes i crank it up at medium.

The ex600 got extra low and going quite flat like studio monitors. They just need a lot of power to shine (like every speaker).

Yep, your b&w have the lows boosted, i guess you leave flat the eq or slight boost the 4-12khz.

i just heard the p3 and they needed some tweaks with the eq to sound less muddy (they are a little muddy on the bass)

Dx50 and JH Roxanne also good match to my ear!  I like it without any amp, just dx50 and Roxanne.

DX50 1.2.8 + TG334 is heavenly matched..

I don't believe. Next time I will be more careful.

Thank you. I am going to have a look at the winter gift guide.

Not sure whether it's appropriate to ask about this on this thread or not. How can I connect the DX50 to a pair of active speakers?

Using the analog line out if the active speakers have analog inputs

I'm working on a plan for doing the same thing. I have everything I need, except the speakers.
