Computer setup problems

Thread Starter

I am trying to put together a decent computer/home system.

HK 3390

Warfedale diamond 9.5

Older yamaha 8inch sub

Now my problem, i just bought a Schiit Modi, so i could use the computer. I can get sound, but the volume is only controlled by the computer. The amp setting dont work (bass treble ect) and the sub no longer works either.

I have the Modi to the Main in, on the HK3390 (only inputs where i can get sound) Everything worked before the Modi install.

What am i doing wrong?

You should be able to go:

PC-->RCA Interconnects-->CD Input on HK 3390-->Speakers and Sub Out ( Make sure the switch is on )

If it has Matrix mode you may want to use it.

Doesnt work..

The route i have now..

PC--USB to Modi--RCA's to cd input--speakers. No sound.

The only RCA's that i get sound from.. is the MAIN IN on the back of the 3390.

As NA Blur explained, it should work fine. I've used a DAC (the ODAC), speakers, and sub with the HK 3390. No problem.

Sure you don't have the the tape monitor switch accidentally turned on? Do you still have the pre-out to main in connected together on the back of the HK?

Also, which model Yamaha sub are you using?

Did you select CD as you source in the receiver when you have the signal from the DAC going to the receiver?
