Mini SF Bay Area meet - Page 4

Saturdays may be ok, as for east bay, the closer to Fremont the better for me.

Friday night after work would be cool in the city. I'm also in the east bay but out in Benicia. I can bring my MacBook Pro 15 and Philips fidelio x1. I also have an Asgard 2 and mad dogs 3.2 with a q-audio cable but I wouldn't want to really lug around the Asgard and it seems like there a quite a bit of mad dogs already.

I'm definitely interested! I live in Fremont, so another vote for the East Bay. I can't commit 100% until there are dates, but I could bring my Hifiman HE-6's with an Emo Mini-x + Bifrost, as well as Mad Dog 3.0's to compare alongside the 3.2 if that would please anyone's curiosity.

I've been wanting to try the HE-6's so consider that pleasing my curiosity. Hopefully this happens on a date we can both be there.

Anybody have an idea yet for a meeting place or date? Is your office empty on a Saturday? Do you have a community center with a meeting room? Do you have a very friendly coffee shop that may allow a dozen or so geeks to geek out in the back corner? Speak up if you may have an idea.

I would look for a place in my neck of the woods, but I'm so far east (Vacaville) that I don't think it would be convenient for anyone. (Except maybe aamefford) LOL. So I'll have to bow out at offering a place but I can still stir the pot, right?

I haven't heard the HE-6 out of my Audio-gd... and would love to!

Unfortunately I only have a 4-pin into speaker tap adapter cable for the HE-6, so unless there are speaker outputs on the amp or someone has a 4-pin into 1/4" adapter, I'm afraid you're out of luck.

Or if someone has a hifiman stock headpamp cable they wouldn't mind lending.

? Sorry, confused. You have a 4 pin XLR on your cable end, then a XLR to speaker tap adapter? If that's right could you just plug into any amp w/ 4 pin XLR out?

I also have XLR to 1/4 SE adapter, speaker tap adapters, etc. if needed. I can also DIY up a quick adapter to bring to the meet if it's something oddball.

Just want to be sure we can hear the HE-6 on other amps as well!

I also have a 4 pin to 1/4" adapter.  Also, the HIFI-M8 is 4 pin in.  I'm really curious how well the M8 will drive the HE6.  I've read it does them justice, if not to their full potential.  This would be a fun pairing for me to try.  I guess that means I'd love to see your HE6's at our slowly coalescing mini-meet, vaed.

Great! I got both of your names down.

So far we have a great number of Saturday attendees, so I think we'll most likely end up with that.

Now we just need a date and a place to crash. Any East Bay residence here with any suggestion? I'm too far down in South Bay, so I don't know East Bay well enough to scout locations.

If others think lunch would be a good idea, maybe we can find a restaurant that will give us a separate banquet room, let us in early to set up, feed us and then clean up lunch, and let us hang out until late afternoon, all for a reasonable price?  Hmmmm, East Bay.  Walnut Creek.  Mini Holywood north.  Scratch the reasonable price part of that...  Any audio stores in the east bay with a back room?

We could go to AudioHigh:)

Nooo.....

Ugh, I won't be available until November. Hope you guys have fun with this mini meet. Audio High is pretty cool, the guys there are really chill to talk to.

Keep me updated in case there is a meet in November around Thanksgiving time.

Audio High is in Mountain View though, right?

If everyone is okay with that, I have no qualm about it. Let's set up a date!

I'll just make another meet then.

In fact, since the big meet in February isn't a Head-fi meet, we can still make an official big Head-fi meet by around Christmas or New Year.

That means big rooms, lots of people, and lots of fun!
