Watch it with the Hereseys. I can't do horns without tubes, and at 99db that Brio is a ton of power. Lol

You could put just a few watts into Hereseys and get concert levels.

I've known Heresys since they came out as sound re-enforcement for churches.  Be sure there's a return policy if you buy them.  Just sayin'.

I got my Rega RP3 at Audio Concepts.  The setup that they had was the RP3 into the Brio with a pair of RS3's.  I could live very happily with that combo.  My dad has a pair of Heresy's that I grew up with.  I think that's why I'm leaning towards those.  I've got a line on a pair for $300.  I've also been considering just upgrading the phono stage for now and eventually upgrading my amp

I'm looking forward to hearing your LCD-2 with it. I've never heard them before and I'm considering them as my next headphone purchase.

We might not be able to go to half-price all together, it seems like my dad wants to only be at the meet for like an hour and a half frown.gif I'm going t try super hard to stay longer.

I like the way you're still showing respect for your dad, though disappointed.

How about letting him know you realize it's a big imposition on him to hang out for longer than an hour and a half, and ask him what you might do that's of value to him, to make the trip twice - dropping you off, then coming back and getting you later.  Elbow grease your way to the meet.   :D

Just a thought, as I'm sure I'm not alone in appreciating your enthusiasm.

Definitely up for a bit of mutual back scratching then!

I see your profile says you're in McKinney.  If you and your dad are alright, I don't mind getting you a lift home as I live in McKinney as well.

So do we have a list of all the things everyone is bringing? And possibly a time schedule of sorts? I'm hoping to listen to some stax, lcd3, he-6, and the hd800 and I'd love to know when those people will actually be there!

Contemplating on the gear I bring..

-Westone W4?

-Audeze LCD2.2

-HiFiMan HE-500

-Mjolnir or EF-5 (not sure yet..)

-Modi (not bringing Gungnir..too much stuff by then)

I'm sort of 50/50 at this point on driving out for the meet, it'll probably come down to some last-minute circumstances so I can't say for sure. If I do make it and get there in time, I'd like to try and join the Saturday dinner, would appreciate it if someone could post the location when it's been decided on. Will there be a Sunday dinner too? I'd have time for one if it happens.

If I show up I'll be the one with a NAD T533 DVD player source, Micromega MyZic amp, and the Audio-Technica AD2000 + AD2000X, and Audeze LCD-2 r2 (in bamboo).

Btw, any particular recs for good Mexican food in the area around the venue? (Burgers and authentic Mexican are some of my favorite food.)

In considering this. I'll talk to him Saturday afternoon, I've got a football game tonight and work tomorrow morning.

The problem with Saturday dinner is a lot of people have dropped out. I'm up for a Sunday dinner as it seems more likely.

Thus far only mrspeakers and goldtuba have confirmed for a Saturday pre-show dinner. I'd check with them. Doesn't look like we'll have the consensus for an "official" evening meet so I'd collaborate with them about the details of where & when.

For burgers, it's gotta be Hopdoddy which is practically across the street.

Lots of choices for Mexican food. Rafa's on Lovers Lane is the closest. I haven't been there personally but the reviews are consistent. Or you could drive a bit further south to Gloria's on Lemmon Avenue. Great mix of Mexican and Salvadorian fare... you'll see some things not typically found on many Tex-Mex menus. Ojeda's is a bit further still. I went there with some pals awhile back and liked the laid back vibe.

Burgers sound fine to me!  Hopdaddy it is.

I can't make the meet, but I would love some recommendations of stores in the DFW area where I could audition some gear.

I am likely to be coming with the gear in my signature

I'll be there later in the day so I probably won't bring anything unless someone really wanted to listen to my concero -> auditor -> DT990's or Woo-wee->Stax lambda pros. I wouldn't bring an amp though so unless someone else has an integrated i could borrow, most of that stuff will stay at my house. But if someone is interested in the stax, i have it on sale so that would be a great a way to try before you buy :)

Bring the Wee and Lambdas. I'll have my Leben and you're welcome to use it. Speaker taps will be free.
