Dared MP5 - Integrated USB DAC, Speaker Amp, Headphone Amp (Upgraded Tubes)
Will Ship To: CONUS
After attending the Canlanta meet, I decided that there are a few audio toys I really want, but I've got to sell off a bunch of stuff that doesn't get used much anymore to afford it. Thus, my Dared MP5 (or MP-5) is up for sale. Pertinent info:
MSRP: About $560, depending on when and where you looked for it. The only ones I've found in a quick search are currently going for $340 + shipping.
Reviews and Impressions:
Head-Fi Thread (where I originally researched it, no less)
Price: $285 + shipping
Notes: This is a bit of a do-everything amp, and I had decided not to sell it on the previous round of sell-offs, but changed my mind since I don't think I'll get to use it anytime soon. It's very attractive, and I did my best to get rid of fingerprints and whatnot, but that mirror finish definitely makes it difficult. There are no functional issues to my knowledge, and I've upgraded the rather shabby stock tubes to something that sounded much better (I think they were NOS Sovtek 6N1P-EB, although it's been long enough that I wouldn't swear to it). It accepts 6N1P and ECC85 tubes according to the manual. I have the original box (with the gloves and brush) around somewhere, and I'll dig them out to ship shortly. The power cable that it came with originally was nothing special, but I'm not sure the one I have with it now is the original, so it might be a Monoprice cable instead. Don't think it matters, but I'm a stickler for disclosure ;). I also have a PDF copy of the English version of the user's manual if you'd like it. This is the unit that was rebadged and sold for something like $600 as the Fatman iTube, and was also apparently rebadged as HCT HMS-100, Sonic Integrity MP5, and Vuum Vti-B1, although I'm not familiar with those.
CONUS only for now.
