Thank you very much for your suggestions.....

I'm just saying, if your all about the vocals, mdr v6 may not be the best fit.  The citiscape uptown and sr80i  are the only headphones under $150 now that i can stand listening to with a smile on my face.  The uptown may not have that raw detail retreival but they sound clearer, and have a good soundstage.  The v6 has better bass though.

I would wear the headphone couple of hours daily, so comfort is very important.

Is MA 300 = sony mdr MA 300? I am sorry I am a noob.

Thank you Trucks159, Audio technica ATH A900X is way out of my budget right now!

any other suggestions in the range of 100$ (or 100 Euros)?

Yep yep! I mean SonyMDR-MA300 xD

Will like to add in the SR60i, HD439 and UE4000 as well! Those three put a smile on my face in addition xD but still, OP, I find the MA300 to be a better all rounder for you smily_headphones1.gif

Not curtain about the AKG headphone as I have never tested it but the FiiO E17 is surely a great amp/DAC combo with built in battery and it's much better in terms of SQ than the E10 if you can afford it, sure it is a good choice! However, it is always better to spend more on headphone than amp/DAC. Mainly because headphone will make more noticeable improvement over amp/DAC.

Overall, after reading some reviews on the AKG, I think you can't go wrong with the set up (AKG K240 MKii + E17 combo)! Dont look back since you have ordered! Look forward as I strongly do not think you will use this setup forever and you might upgrade to higher end headphone after 2-3 years althought for now you might say "you won't" xD but that's what I said, all the senior head-fi said after getting a new headphone! But did we stop buying, majority: nope xD

Lastly, the E17 is considered a very powerful portable amp/DAC so I believe it's a very useful one and should provide you a very long run as it can drive most headphone at $300~ price range sometimes higher-end so you don't have to hassle at all when the next time you looking to buy new headphone xD

Enjoy!

thank you very much for answering patiently and your suggestions.

The E17 is a nice DAC/amp, and it should serve you well if you decide to get any more headphones at a later date. It will work well with all but the most difficult to drive headphones that are WAY more expensive than the AKGs you have selected. smily_headphones1.gif

Here's a review of the E17.

Welcome to head-fi SORRY about your wallet! [You guys are so lame]

I'm all in for ANYTHING by Beyer [I should try the 250 myself honestly] in addition the Ath a900x is a fun can as well, and very cheap in the states. I was about to sell one to the UK for about $130 Euros, but import taxes might kill it's bargin Value. there is also an Akg K550 being sold here on head fi for 99 GBP, I have the link some where in another thread

But there are some great options to choose from, try browsing the For Sale THread here, and look for EU sellers!
