Just Bought a Pair of AKG K702. Need Advice.

Hey guys, just a beginner level audiophile here. I purchased a pair of M50s for portable uses a few months ago and was blown away by the differences of that and a set of normal $20 cans.

However, there's just something lacking after a while of reading and listenting to them on my onboard PC and my Iphone.

So i just recently purchased a pair of mint condition AKG K702 for 155$ with everything orginal included. It is a good buy? I heard some pretty good things about this headphones, and they sure is a lot cheaper than the HD 600, while giving comparable performance.

I still have around 90-100$ to buy a good budget amp to drive these headphones. And I looked into the likes of E17, E11, E10 and etc. But I'm really confused as to what's the best budget amp to drive these headphones.

Also one last thing, i listen mainly to classical music, but still listen to stuff like Two Steps From Hell for school work. I was wondering what's the cheapest/good place to get some high quality music as well. Up to this point, i just purchased apple itunes music, and a few people suggested lossless and etc.

Thanks

If it has to be a portable amp, save a little more and get the Fiio E12. If you can do a desktop amp, you could go with a schiit magni for your price range. Cheap music, buy CD's from amazon and rip them in the lossless format of your choice.

+1

I buy like new CDs off Amazon all the time and use EAC to rip them. They are typically mint. I think a lot of people are buying new, ripping them, and turning around and selling them.
