What you think about Head-Fi's new look? - Page 7

Its like hearing a remake of an old song that you like. First you hate it. But after a few times, it starts to grow on you.

I like the brighter and fresher look. But I do agree with some folks that the old format is more space efficient (I have a laptop with limited screensize).

Coolest new feature (for me at leats): "on-line" indicator.

But regardless of whatever you like the new look or hated it, I think we should all thank the mods for their efforts in upgrading and maintaining the site! (hey, some people did spend all of Saturday night working on this thing).

Thanks again!

There has always been an online indicator on the old version, the little 'V' button next to the users profile, if grey offline, or if yellow... online

REALLY?!! Now you absolutely have to restore the old format - just for a minute - so I can check that out.

Doh!

I don't think it's as bad as some of you guys seem to think it is. Other than not being able to change my avatar, and my computer locking up when I try to use certain smileys it's O.K. And as usual the search function is down, at least something remains that reminds me of the "old" Head-Fi.

Nonregarding the few flaws (search function, logo, etc.) I think in general the new look is easier on the eye and looks somehow fresh and modern.

Did someone mention this already?

It's the size of the fonts. Like other new versions of forum software, you can't increase the size of the fonts. I run 16x12 now , but will get a bigger monitor soon and run a higher rez. At this rate I'll need a magnifying glass. At a couple of other forums i just stopped going there.

Piggy, I'm with you on this. I'm having a very hard time reading the posts. The text size is way too small for these eyes...

OMFG I don't like this new look at all, too generic looking... For one thing I think it's too bright gotta lose the white...

Is that due to the video display resolution? I am using a 17" monitor and have the resolution set at 800 x 600 and can see the fonts just fine sans glasses. My son has his computer at 1024 x 768 and I can't read the posts even with my glasses.

Thanks, Jon. I was at 1024 x 768 so I moved that down a bit...

Much better now.

all the fonts, and everything else too, have all gone all big an cartoonish looking for me, within the last minute or so.

tres bizarre.

i've not changed any settings on my pc, maybe it's oe of the odd mozilla bugs, as i am using firefox

Meh, yet another characterless v-bulletin v3, completely indistinguishable from every other forum out there. Was there a problem with the previous one?
