My cans definitely have become brighter with a nice touch of colo(u)r to them. In addition, though this maybe the placebo talking, I'm able to visualize a slightly wider image of the music. I need to do some more serious listening but it's got my thumbs up!

This new look is disgusting! I cannot stand it. The older one was so damn simple, and nice looking as well. I dont even know where all the buttons are on this one.

It's growing on me. I think the little menu that pops down when you click on a member's screen name is pretty cool. Except the orientation of the thread starter underneath the thread title when you're browsing a forum is a bit odd. I would expect something along the lines of a further decription of the subject or part of the first post rather than the post starter. I like the blue. It's a refreshing change even though this is probably only temporary.

ALL RIGHT!!! VB3!!! Finally, another one of my favorite boards joins the club! This is great, it was completely worth the lost sleep knowing I couldn't post at Head-Fi last night.

new head-fi

HI: I like this new head-fi a lot. It even seems to work faster but the thick bar between the post seems like a wast of space. Maybe it is thick because I notice the time and date of the post and the post number is on it which is very nice. So I guess it has its thick place. Great job JUDE and who ever.

I think a tad bit darker color scheme would help, but otherwise I like it.

I love head-fi's new look! It has greatly enhanced functionality, and speed. I still have to get accustomed to it however.

I have seen the necessity for horizontal scrolling only on long quotes.

I do remember Mozilla and Konqueror having a very lean window to insert text. This new method is much easier on the eye and a lot more real estate is presented. One thing that is still lacking is the ability to insert smilies where ever one wants at an arbitary insertion point. One hits a smiley and then must cut and paste to where one wants it. It must be my failing, for I tend to insert smileys only after writing out the complete text, if at all (I tend to dismiss smileys as a general principle).

Yes, non standard resolutions will cause horizontal scrolling. But at least VB isn't being written strictly for IE.

Tell me that you haven't had to horizontally scroll when an image is inserted in a post. So perhaps an automatically resizing function could also be incorporated. This would probably benefit 800x600 users more. Someone who creates an image in 1600x1200 will probably cause the rest of us who do not use 1600x1200 to horizontally scroll.

It's time everyone updated their Head-Fi URL to the new www5 URL.

I can see the changes going on in the background and it's definitely improving. Thanks for getting rid of the VBulletin logo, it's so nice to get our Head-Fi back!

On my links browser it looks horrible. I can't concentrate on the important - the text. And 470 kB for starting page of the headphone section?? On dialup like me ?

I agree completely! I was really put off at first because it was like..."WTF happend to Head-Fi???" That initial rejection of change...but I can't help but admit that it's growing on me, and I like a lot of the features of the board more now. Like the little numbers in the top right corners of posts that tell you which # post they are and allow for easy linking. Very nice. And the drop down menu when you click on nicks. And BLUE! Blue blue blue. I like blue I think a makeover is something every forum should get after awhile, otherwise it gets stale.

[edit] YES! Your PM box tells you how many messages you have in it...easy to tell how much space is left. Awesomeness.

Hang in there, guys. It gets better with use. When I first signed in, ('twas the wee hours of the morning), I screamed!

Now, I'm diggin' it more by the minute. Change is a bitch sometimes, but like I said, hang in.

As long as the changes will help to improve the reliability of service from head-fi website then I am happy with it.
