"sudo pacmd list-sinks |grep name:"

Found my AUDIOSINK target and updated then name in the config file accordingly.  All works!

Here's the site that finally gave me the right place to look for the name.

Thanks guys!  Hope this helps someone else some day.

I am considering buying the D02 for my laptop use.  I use archbang linux, is there a setup driver required to get it setup.

The drivers were all the part of the pulse-audio setup I think.   Check out this post and it might get you started:  http://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-your-Raspberry-Pi-into-a-Portable-Bluetooth-A/

I've been using the ELE-02 plug and play, only have it turned up to 1 and its still seriously loud!

I've noticed that I'm getting the occasional drop of audio though, is this unit asynchronous or will it be an issue with my laptop USB output? The USB cable is fine, I've tried a couple with the same issue. Is there anything I can do from a driver point of view maybe as I'm literally running it plug in and play on Windows 8 at the moment.

Because of the cut off, and how impressed I am with this for the money I'm already tempted with an upgrade. Anyone moved from this to another (maybe synchronous?) USB DAC?

My ELE EL-D02 DAC stopped working.

So today I ordered two more from China, only $19 each.

Still loving mine for the money I paid! Has anyone moved from one of these to a Topping TP30? I noticed the DAC chip is the same but was wondering if the amplification stage will be better than the ELE-D02?

Recommend to change caps on D-02 to proper legit ELNA SilmicII`s and enjoy the sound! With my unit sound got little better ;)

What rating of caps did you use? Any links? May give it a go!

I'm just looking at mine now, looks like I may already have them, can you confirm? bate2yma.jpg

All but those in the middle are Elna, or have you changed the ones in the middle too?

funkoid, those on pics I had also but changed all caps. Those stock elnas might not be legit.

Is the AMP better paired with high-ohm or low-ohm headphones?

Of course low-ohm. What do You expect out of few capacitors and chip? :D

Not totally convinced, the ele-d02 is WAY to loud on my 32ohm headphones. I have the volume on the windows/dac interface to 1 and the volume in foobar at 50% at most. Someone that's tried it may chime in but that's been my experience so far.

Seems Your foobar is not in WASAPI, ASIO or KSP mode. Start using WASAPI output (OS internal kernel mixer is avoided and thus vol control in foobar shouldn`t work).

I use winamp + ASIO out plugin with ASIO4ALL and only ELE controls the vol output level (controls win vol mixer). Winamp vol setting doesn`t work and I usually listen between 22-26 (win vol mixer) with my 32Ohm headphones. You do not need to turn so high lol :D One thing is vol output lvl, another thing is amping high-impedance 250+ Ohm cans.
