Thread Starter

Long story short:

I love my music. Listen to everything from country to classical and hip-hop to R&B.

Want:

Something that has full chest thumping bass at high volumes/ full and noticeable at low volumes, crisp highs and warming mids at all volumes.

Budget:

~$300 (+ or - 50)

Open to all suggestions, my ears just need to be treated right.

That's not really enough info. What would the setup be hooked up to, PC, CD, ipod or other media player? Do you already have amplification, or would the setup need to include amp? Would this be for nearfield (e.g., desktop) or needs to work in a small room? One suggestion I have is the Infinity Primus P163 or something in that series. Very high performance/cost ratio, especially when found on sale as low as ~$100/pr. Get a power sub, and a Tripath-based amp such as Lepai or Dayton from Parts Express. For small space I find the P163 quite satisfying w/o a sub.
