HiFiMan RE400 vsEtymonic Research HF5

(like the tips of the HF5,)  want the best accuracy and sound stage as I listen to New Age and Blues so mids need to be perfect./..with clean deep bass/ and crystal highs.      Anyone ever compare these two?   I need your expert opinion...thanks  will purchase this weekend so even if you only know either one, that's a big help.....

Mids on both are a wash. They are both extremely strong and accurate. The RE-400 have a bit if bass over the HF5, although I wouldn't regard it as being bassy. The HF5 treble is stronger and more clear than the RE-400.

wow, tough choice again and the price is almost even;  tinyman392, what's your choice if its New Age and Blues music ?  Can either benefit from amp?  thanks
