Problem with SoundMagic PL11

Hi guys,

First of all I'm not really sure if this is the place to post it, if not i apologize in advance, but i'm having a problem with my IEM's. All of the sudden my PL11 started to misbehave, they play some of the instrumentals just fine, but vocals are really low and with a poor quality as well as other sounds. Feels like they are playing in the background but the quality of the sound is just weird. At first I thought it could be some problem with the cabling being broken at some point, but i tried twitching all the cable by sections and it didn't change a thing, even near the connector. I must say I do use them to go to the gym, so it could be a sweat problem. Oh and this happens to both left and right earpieces, can someone help me out on a solution for it? Should I just buy a new pair of IEM's?

Best Regards

Believe me, you should get something else if you have enough money

Well, at the moment money is somewhat of an issue... Otherwise I wouldn't bother asking since they aren't that expensive of an IEMs

Well, it's obviously that you can't take them apart and see what happen inside, you should take them to some audio store and ask them to check your iems out. If their drivers damaged or cable broken, you shouldn't fix em because they will cost you half the price of your iems (since the pl11 are inexpensive)

However, you still can fix them if you want to keep them for a while. If the drivers and cable ok, then the repairation won't cost you much

Ok, thanks a lot. But do you have any clue of what it could be, if the drivers and cables are ok that is?

Problems with the mid range often caused by sweat that goes inside the drivers and corrupts the signal. That just fine cz it won't cost you much. You may want to check the plug-in jack of your music player, cz it can be "loose". But the worse thing is that the cable breaks, not entire cable, somewhere middle, than you have to find a whole new one. Some problems may happen with drivers when they are damaged by your strong exercise or be hit somewhere... That's really bad. But I thing the first problem (caused by sweat) is the most likely to happen. You should have them checked as soon as possible.
