Ah yes, I understand that now. Thank you. My problem, as I have discovered is that the original firmware I installed in the root folder has an .sb extension and the one I need is a .bin file. When I started the bootloader program, it didn't recognize the fw., which is 2.38.06  What then, Maestro? Where do I get a .bin file, or whatever is needed?

Uh oh, I went to the page on the Rockbox site and the page that it led me to, which is a dropbox page, said the following:

Nothing Here

The file you're looking for has been deleted or moved.

Right now, the file I have in the root file on my Fuze+ has under Name simply firmware and indicates that it is an sb file. I had the thought that I ought to change the name to firmware.sb.

Would that work?

The only thing I can find on my PC, which must be what I used back when I Rockboxed my Fuze+ (which is collecting dust) is a file named exactly that....firmware.sb. File size is 33.1MB. So I'd say, yeah, it is worth a shot renaming it like that.

Okay, so I renamed the folder firmware.sb and started the bootloader app. It didn't work but I went an extra step I hadn't got to before. Encouraged, I opened the folder (duh, heh heh) and changed the name of the actual firmware file from firmware to firmware.sb.

Guess what! It worked! Thanks! You helped a lot.

Now my Fuze+ is Rockboxed! The thing I have to do now is play around with it. As of now I can't locate my music after rebooting with the microSD in. I'll let you know but going to bed soon.

Update: Hey, somehow I figured out how to update my database, w/o prompting from anyone (yay) and now I have my music files appearing. What I noticed right away was that my music is listed by composer first! This was impossible before with the sansa file system. This is such a win for me! Okay.... going to bed, lol.
