Hi,

I am happy owner of i10 and for me the sound (even if the signature is the same according to manufacturerand independently of the headphones ) is very warm, and i love it.
I would like to know if x9 and S9 also have warm or cold sound?
Could you tell  me which Cowon (on sale)  have this warm sound
?

Thank you very much.

Welcome to the forum ahmedd. Many different media players have a warm sound signature. Trying to find one that is neutral or cold is quite difficult. Cowons are know for their colourful presentation of music. I have only heard the S9 and it was too colourful for my liking but this appeals to others as well as the ability to adust the equalisation which the S9 does very well.

If you are not using any of the JetEffects or the EQ, then the i9, i9+, i10, J3, X7, and X9 all sound almost identical.

I wouldn't call it a warm sound, more to the cold side, unless you start using the sound tweaks. Once you start playing around with the EQ and various BBE settings, the sound can change drastically. I've learned with the three Cowon players I've owned that you need to tread lightly with all those sound tweaks......with some gentle adjustments you can get a very pleasing sound, but it is easy to go to far and end up with a very unnatural and inaccurate sound if you're not careful.

Nice thing about my X9, along with the sound tweaks and 32GB internal storage plus a microsd slot, is the stellar battery life....rated over 100 hours.

I've had a J3 for years and never quite warmed up to it ... Always had a cold sound to me, same as my wife's cowon d2.

I much prefer the output on my sony walkman a818 with any of my headphones, sure se530, yamaha eph-100, Creative EP-630

None of them sound as well on the Cowon's ... Even my desktop amp the meier audio corda canate (cold sounding as well) will not produce music with any of those IEMs

to my satisfaction in comparison to the sony player

I definitely perfer a warmer bassier sound. Hope this helps.
