Looking for a pair of 300-400£ headphones, mainly for Rock, Electronic and Hip-Hop

Hello Head-fi, this is my first post, so please don't yell at me for being a complete retard biggrin.gif

I'm looking for a pair of good headphones in the range of 300-400£. I'm also looking for a good amp/dac to go with them. I've been looking at the Sennheiser HD 650 with the ODAC/O2 combo. I've been googling a bit, and it seems that the HD 650s are great all arounders with a warm sound, and I don't mind them being coloured. Is that setup any good? Any other recommendations? Thanks! bigsmile_face.gif

I'm guessing you like warm and romantic sound. For your use, HD650 seems fine. ATH-W1000x is also another option. Very romantic and mid centric sound with better treble than HD650.

O2 and ODAC is great, but just to save you a little money, why don't you buy the Modi and Magni instead of ODAC/O2? They are cheaper, and the sound quality between O2 and Magni is almost negligible. Some even thinks Magni has better SQ.

Thanks for the recommendations kimvictor. I've been looking around a bit, and I saw the M&M combo. I thought that they looked nice, and that they had nice reviews, and your recommendation just shows, that that's what I'm going for. The cans that you recommended is a bit out of my price bracket, but I'll look if I can find them on sale.

W1000x was being sold for $400 on buydig, but it's now sold out. I think you'll be able to find one for a reasonable price.

You see, the problem is that I need to get it from EU if I don't want to pay customs. Do you know any place in EU that sells them for a reasonable price? confused.gif

I'm not so knowledgable when it comes to EU. I think buying it used would probably be the cheapest option for you. I try to buy my gears used, as they are much cheaper.
