Of course they work! The mod I did three months ago was just taking to foam pieces out, but after a week I put them back. It was a completely reversible mod.

Yep bad timing, but hopefully you reconsider selling and keep them, these are great cans! :)

I agree, bad timing. They sure are great headphones, but I really want to trade them with the DT770.

You say that now.. Trust me, the DT990 > DT770 for all music!  Unless you absolutely need a closed headphone of course, but in that case the DT770 would not be up to the task

Well, the thing is that I'm sort of a basshead lol so I was thinking I would get more bass from a DT770 PRO 80 than a DT990 PRO 250, plus more isolation. Is the bass difference between the two huge?

More bass, but its not as enjoyable really. If you only listen to simple composition type dubstep/edm the DT770 is alright.

The DT990 bass isn't lacking, and works with more music. Sometimes I wish I had my DT990 for the extra bass, but I have never had to think twice about getting rid of the 770. (I have the DT880 Pro now)

If you want some loud bass you could try the Sony XB series. You might want to get a new source/amp for your DT990 though, because its one of the best compromises between bass and balance.

I agree with you on that one. My hifiman ef2a does a great job at driving these! I'll have to think about this. Whenever I EQ the bass I get clipping. It's very good bass, but I just want more.

You probably will have to wait on selling the DT990, in the meantime you should try auditioning at retail stores if possible. The M80 has plenty of bass if you want to add a closed portable to your arsenal ;)
