It's interesting how he puts the pads on ear first haha. I think I will order the Brainwavz sheepskin and try it at least.

Yes, I will get a step down transformer thank you. Is 200 watts enough?

Not always. It really depends on the headphone.

I've never used a transformer (I used a modified power supply instead) so I'll leave that question for others to answer.

I've also never used a step-down transformer. But I recently BOUGHT one, as I thought I would be buying another Stax amp running on Japanese voltage......

When I was browsing on Amazon, for the SRM-007 it recommended that VCT Transformer in the 500W flavor. So in my typical fashion, I purchased the 1000W one :p

I ended up purchasing a used Stax amp already running US voltage, so no transformer needed. So the Transformer just sits, but I have one now if I need it, I guess!

Need some advice..... i current have the SRM212 connected to my SR207's. I am really enjoying it however, I realize the srm212 is really an entry level Stax amp and I am winding if I can get more out of my 207's with an upgraded amp. What is a good suggestion that would actually make an audible difference. And what difference would I hear? It's my understanding that the SRM212 is the same amp that came with the sr2170 setup, just in a solid black housing instead of the silver.

Or...... would getting the sr407 be a better way to go? Just trying to step up my Stax setup I I can.

Thanks for the sugesstions.
