dust inside headphone jack

i dont know which forum to put this, so you guys are welcome to move this thread if you deem necessary. i just want to ask, if you have dust inside your headphone jack, does it do anything to the audio quality or the durability of the equipments, does it have any negative effect at all?

I've never encountered this but it might degrade the sound a bit? It won't have permanent effects though.

yeah, i have also never really encountered people talking about this issue on here so wanted to ask...

thanks for the link but how about those cleaning duster spray? isnt that even easier?

I wouldn't use any normal spray but contact cleaner solvent would work. I think the point of ABI's link is their option is much cheaper.

i see... but my dad happens to have a can of this just sitting on top of a storage box, next to the stationary. i just used this to skip the extra trouble like having to worry about the cotton stuck inside and stuff like that. i just sprayed (with the straw attached) directly into the hole. what i noticed is the can after spraying got really cold, its probably not detrimental to the player though, i would think.
