My soul is not that patient anymore lol. But on a serious note it would be a perfect day for them to get delivered as my wife has Wednesdays off work and is taking an online photography course so she has the computer room to herself and our daughter is at daycare today. So it would be the perfect time to test them out with my Concero HP portable set up as my wife needs it to be quite in the house. I can't even listen to my other portables yet as I don't want to miss the doorbell lol.

Also, has Tyll not been given a pair of Alpha Dogs to measure?

the Classics might be a good comparison too.

I'd like to here a comparison as well. The AD's will probably stay at home though and be used more when I need noise isolation for when the wife is in the computer room with me. I'm wondering if the FSP and FSC would be an upgrade over the 7520's.

The AD's are here:)  The maroon cups are awesome. At first listen, the sound is very well balanced and detailed, the mids are very smooth, almost planar like:) jk.  They are definitely harder to drive than my 7520's though as on the MBP>Concero HP I am at about 3/4 volume.  On the 7520's I usually listen at just over half.

from the reviews seems like the Focal might have a bit better SQ (maybe at the low end), isolation I dont know.

Thanks.  I am:)   I can tell you though these seem to be power hungry IMO.  My wife took a break from her studying in our computer room so I got to try them with the balanced cable through my M-DAC > balanced> BHA-1 on low gain setting.  I had to turn the volume higher than with my HE-500's to get to my preferred listening level.

So far: Very Impressed.  Extremely good quality, as I had expected from all the good things said about Dan.

Likes:  Very smooth

Soundstage is impressive for a closed HP.  It really doesn't seem closed in like my 7520's do.

            Isolation is VERY GOOD.

A little more deep or sub base than the HE-500 IMO.  Although I feel the HE-500's have a little better controlled mid base.

            Very comfortable.

Dislikes:  The Cable's are fairly microphonic

Feel as heavy as my HE-500's

OK. Back upstairs I just tried SE vs. fully balanced on the BHA-1 and I find that fully balanced seemed to really open up the soundstage noticeably.

Took a picture of my Alpha Dogs this morning with my ibasso setup.  I should be flying down to Texas in a few weeks and I will get to see how this works for traveling.  Always one of my biggest concerns is how well headphones work on a plane and how well I enjoy wearing them for that long.

I've not heard anything about this. Hope Tyll add some measurements.

Looks nice and nice setup…  it just hurts my eyes seeing AD lying on the piece of wood without a towel to prevent scratches…  But then again, it might sit on the pads instead of the cups right?

He will be measuring them. He stated so in his forum.
