Hey, just wanted to share my mod for AD biggrin.gif

Yep, I shortened the leather part of headband around 1-1.5cm on each side. I did that for both comfort and SQ reasons. In original setting upper part of earcup is pressing against my head more than the lower part. This is because length adjustment does not preserve width. This also means that seal on the bottom was worse than seal on the top. With this simple mod forces seem almost equal, so seal is better and comfort is better. The only drawback is that headband is sticking out above the head, but who cares biggrin.gif

Also I have a good news (I think). While I was doing this mod one cup has fallen to wooden floor, and there is no signs of it ever happening. The paint seems to be bulletproof, but remember YMMV.

Also, if you haven't noticed on the photo above, now they fit on the stand with cable.

Yup. I think @mrspeakers may be there also.

OK you got me !  I ordered an AD to complement my TH-900 when I need isolation.  The TH-900 leak too much when I am in a quit & busy environment.   I hope the AD will pair with my TU-05 tube amp  as well as the TH-900 does. :-)

Good idea. It looks like this is more in line with the suspension headband method LFF suggests and uses on his products. I found that to be considerably more comfortable for the T50RP, and it definitely helped with getting a good seal.

That said, I still have to add extra cushioning regardless of the headband solution for my sensitive baby head.

Dan - you should try this.   This might help the problem of some people not getting a good fit on the Alpha Dogs.... I will try this myself when I get some spare time.

Just wanted to briefly report back and share that I have been greatly enjoying my first week with my new ADs. They are excellent closed phones and a major step forward from diymod t50rp's for anyone who has been sitting on the fence. My 4 year old is a big fan as well!

She danced into a sunbeam while rocking the AD's, and I figured I would share the pic:
