8.november  !

you're two weeks ahead of me then, 25 November...

We are in the first week of November shipments.

Our supply chain was kind of hammered by a double dose of weather that delayed cables and "what were they thinking" (our paint shop delivered a double batch of Right cups).

So we have a LOT of half-built headphones that will be completed over the coming week and I am hoping that with luck we will ship through 11/10 this coming week (we are down some staff due to holidays so we may not get quite that far).

I do not thnk that you can generalize about "tube amps".  Even if you separate "all tube amps" from "hybrid tube-FET amps", there are clean, detailed and neutral tube amps and fat, warm, fuzzy tube amps.   Also, how the output stage is designed can affect how well it works with planar headphones, and/or lower impedance headphones in general.

Good eyes! It is the MkII version, not sure what the diff is. Turnaround time about the same as the Alpha dogs. Ordered the cable one day after the Alpha dogs and it came two days before the headphones.

Any improvement over the stock cable?

Nov 11 order here. Can't wait to compare Alpha Dogs to my markl D5000 with angle pads. Can the Denon be finally dethroned? smily_headphones1.gif

Gonna be close but I doubt it.

Keep them both and have one true closed can.

True closed or not makes no difference for me. Its all about the sound quality and the "fun" factor. So one of them must go.

My brief impression is the FAW Noir cable provides a weightier sound with added clarity over the stock cable. While the improvement is not as drastic as what my Norse audio Reign 4 did to LCD-2 and Toxic virus to my ES5, the FAW Noir does make music more enjoyable to my ears.

I wonder how this song sounds with the Alpha Dog. I liked Fourplay's music with it. tongue.gif
