MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones - Page 254

That's the battle I'm really interested in. I really wanted the AD, but after putting forth similar money on the m8 this time last year, being told the original release date was around the first of the year, and ultimately didn't get them for nearly a year. I don't want to go through the wait game again.

So since the 1540 are available now, I pulled the trigger on those. But I'm still very interested in them. And if they turn out to be significantly better, I may still get them once Dan catches up. But I'm pretty impressed with the shures so far.

Sorry for the HD700 too!

+1  I've never heard the AD though.

DG of course is the #1 T1 advocate, but I think they're very amp picky. They don't sound right on any SS amp I've tried other than the GS-X mk2. They also have a very particular sound signature that IMO is not very popular. Still, they have good value if you buy them used.

Dubstepgirl LOVES them T1's.  Says it's her favorite if I remember correctly.

I had a long listen with AD and T1's. To my ears, the AD was more enjoyable with every genre I played.

OK! I've read through all 253 pages of this thread! (I know sad huh), man it was a minefield and my eyes are bleeding. There are some nuggets of good info in there amongst PAGES of OT stuff.

So to aid those who are new to the thread and just want to read only the good stuff (no offense to anyone) I have created a summary with links to all the impressions and reviews including some vital information. In rough order of appearance except when grouping reviews from same person. Sorry if I missed anyone's reviews, it was a LOOOONG thread...

Enjoy!

Really?

I wanted to buy a T1.  I should try a AD first.

Thanks your your writeup Oregonian. I enjoyed reading it.

I have a d2k. I apologize if this has been asked before, but it would seem from your response above that the bass response is lower in the Alpha Dog compared to the Denon series. Is this true?

Yes, it is lower in the Alpha but not by as much as I thought it would be.  Very capable in the bass department with a vintage amp feeding it good power.

A quick shipping update: we had a paint issue this week and not as many phones have been produced as planned.  The phones are ready to go as soon as the cups are in and we believe we've addressed the issue to get more parts through paint.  I'm pretty confident we will be shipping a lot of Alpha Dogs on Tuesday and Friday of next week.  As of today we're shipping orders through Sept 9 and by the end of next week we should be shipping orders placed up to around Sept 20.  By the end of next week I really hope to be very close to our six week commitment.

Our apologies for the extra bit of wait, but I wouldn't want to ship phones that aren't up to snuff.

@Lillee

Your links belong on the first post. Thanks for taking the time to do that.
