MrSpeakers Alpha Dog Revealed! - The World's First Production 3D-Printed Headphones - Page 153

We kept the foam snug to protect the paint.  Less movement...

The simple way to remove is pop the stand first. reach under it and pull vs. tugging on the top edges.

Cheers!

Yup. At what point did say anything relating to build quality or comfort (not even to mention performance!)? I was talking specifically about the aesthetics of the headband, which to me are pretty dreadful and a total juxtaposition to the exceedingly great quality of the pads and cups. I can see how something looks in pictures, I have no need to own it to determine my opinion on the headband's looks.

On a related note, I'm really fed up with this 'hater' culture. I really thought I would have escaped it on Head-Fi, but even here people insist on rebutting fair, legitimate criticism with what essentially boils down to "YEH WELL UR JUST A HATER LOL". I'm just expressing that I personally have a strong dislike for the look of the headband. Remember, it's subjective, so if you like it then don't be so defensive. It's not like I called your first born child ugly :D

I respect your opinion, "I get your style".  :D

I'm a fan of the Fostex headband in everything but looks (the comfort strap makes the stock headband comfort a non-issue). It's sturdy, flexible, and very durable, which says a lot for a headphone that originally costs just $100. Not the prettiest, but again, if someone designs something akin to like the Beyerdynamic pro model snap on padding, it should raise the look of the AD. Maybe something with velcro on the underside?

The only thing is designing something that would either cut off before the area where the comfort strap attaches, or has a hole for the comfort strap.

Any new AD owners tried driving them off the WA7?? I'm particularly curious of the synergy between the two (pref with the EH tubes).

So, folks receiving the Alpha Dogs... we know they're pretty and all, but do you guys think you can stop staring at them long enough to do some listening and give us some thoughts?  Thanks!

We have now established that they look nice....

How about some impressions on the sound :P

How much bass do they have compared to the 3.2 or HE400?

You must find some patience.  These things take times.

Good reviews take time.

Quick bass quantity comparison doesn't take time.  =O

Those of you that have them just take some time to enjoy them. The reviews can come when they come smily_headphones1.gif

Maybe a suggestion for future batches, but perhaps a rubber sticker foot can be added to the bottom of the "triangle" of the stand such that the two sides don't clank against each other every time its moved.
could I also make a request? How do they sound with just your astell & kern? Is the power and quality there?

I have some new info on the Alpha Dog:

It has some SEVERE NOISE LEAK, but seems well suited for outside use, which seems to be a contradiction.
