I know that. The poster above mine was saying to paint though, which isn't nearly as durable as anodizing.

Falling in love with this more and more as each new picture is posted.

Dan did mention the angle that the stand creates on the cables, but I can't control my reflex cringe every time I see it.

Modding the top of the stand with a little extra padding should do the trick though.

I meant the cups - matte black sliders look great.

I wonder if Dan thought about applying a thin leather wrap or something around the Fostex headband to completely hide the OG T50RP traces, aside from the metal extenders...

It would probably be a lot more cost efficient than designing a whole new headband. The stock T50RP headband works incredibly well, IMHO. It just needs new aesthetics.

starting to look classy now, almost as refined as the TH-900.

We're putting a few details in place for the upgrade program, I hope to have that available on our website this weekend.

Dan just told me the one in the photos is mine. I guess it'll be here soon!

By the way, as per your suggestions, I'm putting a FAQ on the opening post. There are just a couple of items in there now, but as more questions/answers get brought to my attention, I'll add them.

I officially rescind all my previous (minor) concerns about the color.  Looks great!

But the basic quality of the sound of the headphones comes from the Fostex T50RP driver.   Thus hiding the Fostex name makes no sense.

And, the headband/yoke/pivot system is probably the hardest to get right, as it has to work for an amazing variety of head shapes.

So, I could see that you would want to leave the driver and headband/yoke/pivot design to a large company...

Just wondering, but shouldn't this thread be in the "summit-fi (high end audio) forum" since this is a flagship headphone and also costs a pretty penny (maybe not as much as some other flagships but still) so it deserves to be there? We are waiting for reviews to see if we have to move the thread there correct? Or is it just here in the "full-size headphones" section because of convenience?

Currawong would need to see people pairing it with amps/dacs 'costing thousands of dollars' before it could get moved to there I think
