eq bass = distortion...

Its much more clean from hard ware unless the player is built with eq software in it.

I wish i knew a better eq program for MAC OS. you have to eq mids and highs down and turn the bass flat and turn the volume up....WHACK

+10 for the bass adjustment on the AD

We will likely ship on the 25th.  Orders will start to ship very close to that date as well, ironically our biggest schedule risk is the packaging.  We'll attempt to sending the phones so as to minimize transit time.

For those of you who didn't make the cut, thanks for submitting.  We didn't have to cull too many names but those we did were culled based on the electronics chain upstream from the headphones.

Thanks to everyone for signing up, I look forward to your impressions!

Jriver MediaCenter has Digital Parametric EQ built-in, probably the best EQ short of professional software.  I do NOT know if the Mac version has it, because I do not have a Mac.

Cool beans. Thanks mrspeaker. Looking forward to seeing the unicorn figurines. ;)

Two twins on the tour though. Not too pleased about that. There can be only one.

How'd you manage to find out about our electronic chains? Some people (like me) don't have that listed on their profile...heck I have earwax listed on mine

I checked out posts if gear wasn't listed.

It works, it works well, but it's not for fiddling over and over and over.

I understand and agree...

... however, some years from now, there are certainly going to be Alpha Dogs on ebay for $100 with broken bass ports, because some fool bought it used, without the instructions, and then turned the screw several times a day.   I suppose it will give DIY guys a chance to save $$...

With all this talk about the tour, and the bass scews being a thing to be adjusted only a few times, will you allow the bass screw to be adjusted throughout the tour?

Yes, the tour users can adjust.

Hey TwinQY, don't worry I'm no twin but have twin boys. wink.gif

I'm very happy to be one of the lucky few to demo the Alpha Dog with my own equipments in my house. The best scenario. Thanks again!

Hopefully you'll get your twins to write some impressions down as well...:D

If we're touching the screws perhaps we could screw them back to the default position before sending them to the next person out of courtesy?

^ yeah that's why I was originally against moving the screws in the first place

If you think this feature is a tone control or toy, then you are missing the point.  The feature is pure and simple a SETUP option so people can find the best sound and leave it (like placing your speakers).

Let's have those talks on the PM channel...  Thanks!

Ahhh didn't make the cut. That's okay - I really don't have the proper gear for the AD, though a headphone shop said they would let me put it through the paces on their array of amps. I can't wait to hear impressions from the folks on the list, and I especially look forward to an Alpha Dog/3.2 comparison.
