The exact date will be 2013, December 25 at 0:00 under a decorated tree in the nearby vicinity of your fireplace. :)

Santa Claus isn't real.

And thusly, I rid Head-Fi of the 5 year olds.

Though, somehow I'm still here.

The pineapples must have ripened.

That's when you get your ADs back. December is when you have to leave your MDs under the Christmas tree.

I'm new to this forum so sorry if I'm posting in the wrong spot.

Anyways I was just about to pull the trigger on the mad dog alpha when the alpha dog was announced so now i'm just waiting. I almost wish I would have just gotten the mad dogs and upgraded later.

This will be my first real high end headphone. Right now I'm using a pair of dt770 80ohm's paired with cmoyBB. Anyways, in the meantime I have a few questions:

1) I've come to like the brightness of the dt770's. Am I going to be disappointed with the Alpha Dog (They are darker as I understand)?

2) Can the cmoyBB run the Alpha Dog ok in the mean time until I upgrade?

3) I'm looking at the CEntrance Hifi-M8. Will this amp pair well with the Alpha Dog?

I wonder if Dan was freaked out by the 3D printed version of himself in the office.

Dan...a few questions for you.

1. Is the same connector used in the balanced MD and the AD?

2. Can you post a graph of the AD?

3. Any new pics? I don't think that we have any really good quality shots.

I hope that you and your family had a wonderful vacation and that you are now prepared to work you behind off. biggrin.gif

I think he's answered this one a few pages back. The AD uses a pair (2x) of the connectors used on the balanced MD. So they're the same type. Just two of them instead of one.

It's a 4-pin connector only used on Mr.Speakers headphones. On the balanced MD, all 4 pins are used on the one connector. On the AD, different pairs of pins are used for each side, 1 and 2 for RH and 3 and 4 of LH, for example. So if you plug them in in reverse you won't hear anything.

And it's a very nice connector (I have the Universal Mad Dog that has it), I think it was a smart choice.
