Im contemplating my next serious audio purchase, and been very interested on the Burson latest models.

I can't find any related thread, so i may ask you guys. Have any of you compared both side by side? whats the best model for me?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the Link,

I don't have a clue which headphones Mike used on that review. I want to know how well it performs with the LCD3/HD800.

Anyone else?

I usually like reading Mike's reviews and find his listening agrees with mine so often. This one wasn't badly written, but it was too short. He might do a longer review later.

It's good that these haven't got the stepped attenuators and that could be a reason why they released them. The Soloist SL, which I like, doesn't have them potentially annoying clicks when you change volumes. And if you use a wide variety of headphones for a variety of sound streams (not just from foobar 2000 - youtube, movies, online TV as well) you'll find yourself changing volume often. My ears are sensitive to the clicking of the original conductor anyhow (long demo).

For me the price is an issue. I don't want to pay £1k for it. £500 - £700 would be much better.

Does anyone know which DAC would pair better with the HD650?

9018 IMO would pair better. The HD650 is warm as it is already, the 9018 is brighter than the 1793 and will help balance the HD650 out. I also personally liked the HD600 better on the 9018 instead of the 1793 for the same reason.

Edit: deleted the entire post for security reasons.

A website was selling Conductor SL 9018's for $251.40, but after having done some research, I found 3 things:

1) Their previous website was shut down for selling counterfeit merchandise (which I already feared).

2) The producer of a certain item found his merchandise on that website and says never to have sold anythingto them

3) It is highly likely that they're gathering credit card information; that's why I deleted this post. (Perhaps someone would want to try it out anyway.)
