For Sale:
Audio-GD SA-31 Diamond Differential Amplifier/Pre-Amp. Final Price Drop! WOW!

Will Ship To: US

Up for sale is my Audio-gd SA-31 amplifier / pre-amp. It's in flawless condition. It sounds awesome. I am the second owner. I bought it from the original owner - another respected Head-Fi'er who put less than 50 hours on it. I have only had it for two months since then and have put about the same amount of time on it. It probably isn't even fully broken in yet. A-gd owners often refer to 200-300 hours + for a piece of gear to fully burn in.

This amp is like a big block engine for your headphones. (10 Watts @ 40 ohms!!!) It has gobs of clean power, detail, and a wonderful immersive sound. It is a class-A diamond differential design. I used low gain to drive LCD-2 and LCD-3 wonderfully.  There are 3 user selectable settings for "warmth", I am including the jumpers needed to make the adjustments. SA-31 can also be used as a pre-amp. Please read about it on the Audio-gd website for specifics.

Although there is a 4 pin XLR on the front, this is a single-ended amp. The 4 pin connection is single ended, just like the 1/4 jack - it just gives you flexibility with different cables/balanced headphones.

For more information, please see the thread about the SA-31 here:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/617667/audio-gd-sa-31-head-amp-preamp-a-powerfull-head-amp-with-diamond-difference-design

I LOVE this amp. It really is something special. I liked it so much that after I got it, I purchased the matching SA-1.32 DAC. So why am I selling it? Well I wanted to try a tube amp as well, and went and spent a laaaaaaarge chunk of $$ on a slightly used Decware Zen Taboo mk III. Well after trying both for awhile I decided to keep the tube amp. Both amps are great, but the Taboo edges this out a little (for my preferences) It should! The cost of the Taboo with options is 4 times the retail price of the SA-31! Yikes! So This one will go to a new home.

This amp sold new from Audio-gd plus shipping to US addresses was around $570. I am asking $380, all-inclusive. Shipping and Paypal are on me!  I will ship only to US addresses. Please PM me for any questions, etc. Thanks!

Yes, and your point is?

FYI- Kingwa said this amp can be upgraded by user to the new "SE" model by changing a board. Parts are available from audio-gd.

My point was that your description says this is a amp that retails for $500 plus shipping etc. Technically this amp has been discontinued, and if I were you I'd update the description before someone buys then opens a paypal dispute thinking they purchased SA-31SE.

Cheers,

Thomas

Hi Thomas, thanks for your concern. But nowhere in my ad is it stated nor is it implied that I am selling the SA-31SE. It is clearly described as SA-31. It is a quality item, in as-new condition, described accurately, and at a fair price.

My ad states "this amp sold (past tense) for $500 dollars"

The SA-31SE is a different price and a different model number. I don't see anything misleading or dishonest about my ad.

Let's say a member is selling an LCD-2 revision 1 and describing it as revision 1 ...Would you feel the need to post on that ad that it is not the current model and the seller is misrepresenting the product and should change the description?

I'm not trying to be rude in my reply, just stating the facts. Many pieces of gear in this hobby go through multiple changes and revisions as they develop. (Especially audio-gd!). I don't see a problem with my ad stating the item's actual correct model number and original selling price.

So anyway, please PM me if you would like to make an offer. Please check my feedback, I'm not out to dupe anyone. Ask anyone I've traded with, I'm thorough, clear, and honest in my dealings. No one is going to "accidentally" buy the wrong thing from me. Especially now that this discussion is posted on the thread! Clear as a bell, SA-31. Friends?

I'm thinking about purchasing, but my setup is balanced. Hmm...let me think it over.

Ah, I see. I bought this amp specifically because it was single ended. My DAC's were and are single ended as is my other amp. I figured to try to go for a better single ended setup than a lower level balanced setup for the same $ spent.

Not that there's anything wrong with going balanced...just sharing my thought process on choosing it. Not to mention 8 watts into 50 ohms! 10 watts into 40. Crazy juice.

What DAC are you using?
