Eddie Current Balancing Act PX4/300B Ultimate Package - MUST READ
Will Ship To: Anywhere
Serial Number 52. US voltage. Bought in the beginning of 2012. I have loved this amp for over a year and half but I am now closing up my satellite office and moving everything home where there is neither room nor spousal approval for large headphones amps.
Here’s the information from Craig’s website for those who are not familiar with the incredible piece of equipment:

Power supply 13"W x 14"D x 4.5"H; W=16lbs
Here’s what I paid:
The Balancing Act with Power Supply, and umbilical cord: $3765.00.
JAN 6X4 rectifier tubes $20.00.
KR PX4 tubes $650.00.
P&G 10K pot $250.00, plus $50.00 installation."
My asking price includes upgraded P&G pot AND the KR PX4s which have 300-400 hours on them. Nicely broken in. But these things are built like tanks and have thousands of hours left in them.
BUT this BA package also comes with the following:
Sophia PX4s. These are hardly used. Killer sound. Second only to the KRs. Very very low hours. $350 new.
Psvane 300B-Ts. These have a few hundred hours on them. My favorite of the new production 300Bs. Top to bottom the most dynamic, balanced sound. These are a matched “premium” grade pair with special display box. $400 new.
Four sets of 6X4s. All these were all sourced for their improved sonics over the stock rectifiers supplied by Craig:
2 pairs of RCA 6X4s
1 pair Mullard CV-4001
1 paor Tung-Sol 6X4W
Craig claims the rectifiers have no effect on sonics. Try out the different offerings here and you can decide for yourself. I happen to disagree. Spent over $100 on these.
This comes with the greatest single upgrade I ever made to the BA: The Stefan AudioArt umbilical. Here’s the site:
I am including the original BA umbilical so you can hear the difference for yourself. The SAA one is 3ft in length, so new it was $475.
The power supply has an almost brand-new Hifi-Tuning "Supreme" fuse that was another $60 new. An audible improvement to be sure!
BUT STILL NOT DONE…
I will include any TWO of the following 6SN7/6SL7 variants. These are part of my personal collection. I will not include any more of them for the asking price as they were far too expensive to hunt down and purchase. However per special arrangement with the purchaser, there is the option to buy the entire collection as part of an ultra-killer BA package:
Brimar 6SN7GTY – brown base CV1988
Sylvania 6SN7GT - three-hole “Bad Boy”
Sylvania 6SL7 – dual angle plates, chrome top, black base with green etching
Zaltryon 6SN7GTB - brown base 5692
Arcturus 6SN7GT – black base, “Mickey Mouse” ears
Tung-Sol 6SL7 – black, base, the 6SL7 version of the famous black glass round-plates.
Sylvania 7N7 (will require an adapter)
Raytheon VT-99 – military 6F8G (requires adapter – the driver recommended by Craig!)
Mullard ECC33 - brown base, some say the best there is in the BA driver stage
National Union 6SL7GT – black base, grey glass
Ken Rad 6SN7GT –black base, black glass VT-231
RCA 6SL7 – black base, grey glass, black plates
Caveat emptor: None of the tubes included in this package will be accepted in return. I guarantee they will not be DOA but I cannot guarantee anything beyond that. Such is the nature of audio tubes. This is also typical for the second-hand audio tube market.
AND FINALLY AS AN EXTRA, COMPLETELY OBSESSIVE BONUS:
When I bought the BA, I sourced replacement LIGHT CAPS for the operating light on the front of the amp unit. A round blue one is currently installed. But you can see from the picture that I will include 13 other colors and shapes so you can have endless fun customizing the look of your new Balancing Act!!
This is a premium BA package to be sure. You can get it ALL in one place without the hassle of sourcing parts on your own...
There are some scuffs on the bottom of the amp and PSU units where I had them mounted on Mapleshade footers. Also a few scuffs on the top of the PSU where I placed Mapleshade heavyhats. But nothing that takes away from the overall appearance of the amp...
I do not have any shipping crates as I picked it up directly from Craig in Calabassas. But I know how to pack audio equipment in a bomb-proof way and I have never had a single complaint in my many years of selling and trading.
So, to summarize: this premium package includes Balancing Act #52 with upgraded P&G 10K pot, the KR PX4s, the Sophia PX4s, the 4 sets of rectifiers, the SAA umbilical as well as the original, the premium fuse, and TWO of my NOS driver tube collection.
I have $6120 invested in this package, NOT INCLUDING the driver tubes being offered!!!
Asking $4199 for the package. Buyer pays shipping fees and Paypal if used.
Feel free to PM me with questions. A complete package like this will likely go very quickly...
Thanks for looking.
