SOLD FS: Vintage Harman Kardon 730 Receiver - No opamps here!
Will Ship To: The United States
Sonically strong condition vintage receiver. Twin power supply with all working lamps and controls. Some cosmetic imperfections on top and some slightly off center knobs. This may be a fantastic budget amp for your Ortho or other hard to drive cans. This amp is not as well known as some of the giant '70s era receivers but can compete sonically with many of them. Power is simply routed from the speaker taps to the padded down headphone out, no cheap separate headphone stage like you will find on all new receivers.
Tested both phono inputs work. Phono 2 sounds a bit fuller on my moving coil cartridge. FM works okay but my little dipole has to be optimally placed to get lots of stations, perhaps an adjustment can be made to improve the FM. AM is strong and it has a built in antenna. Power and stereo indicator seems to have been replaced with new lamps that are dimmer. Original crappy metal jumpers are included from pre-out to main in. Controls are relatively quiet but could probably use a bit of deoxit. Volume is just a bit scratchy in the lower levels. Pops on power on and off through the headphone jack, so do not power up or down without unplugging your cans.
As I am disclosing all imperfections that I have found (unlike the first owner), I do want to point out the positives. Strong full amplification and good tone. All tested inputs working. PRICE DROP for quick sale before going the auction route next week.
EDIT: Pics are up.
