846 works well with an iPhone. your good
Does the SE846 work well with the Chord Mojo? Fiio X3?
I don't know personally but from what I've read, the output impedance of the new DAC is very low, and that's exactly what the Shure wants.How is the iPhone 6S plus against the new DAC from Apple? (I assume it should work with the iPhone 6S plus?) Does it sound the same or is it much better with the Shure SE846?
Shure SE846 cables suck balls. Both of them are broken now.
Currently using the iPhone cable of my Shure SE535.
The Shure SE846 has less bass with the Shure SE535 iPhone cable it seems on the iPhone 6S plus?
People talk about "synergy" between gear, and some people love it or hate it (who wants temperamental gear?). I will say, though, that I think I found some synergy with my office setup:
Shure SE846->white filter->Comply P Series*->FiiO E12A->FiiO X5ii
The SE846->E12A pairing is arguably among the most important.
*Second place goes to red Westone Star Tips (which are basically the Comply P tips in silicone form), and third place goes to Comply T Series.

After more than 3 years with the 846, I have the old itch for something new to get excited about. However, I don't see anything tempting in reading various threads around the forum. Everything just seems to have a favor of the month aspect. I don't know, I guess it is saving me money. Meanwhile, I am still enjoying the 846 daily.

No, I haven't. What is the technological characteristic that allows this particular IEM to produce sound better than other full range IEMs?
