I have a suggestion but nobody here really seems to actually consider trying it. I use the full larger mouthed triple flange tip with my SE846. Yes, I know most Shure's come with their own small mouthed triple flange tips but those are garbage. They muffle the sound but do offer the same isolation.

The easiest way to do the mod is to cut the end off of another tip that fit the SE846 properly and shove them in the larger mouthed triple flanges so they'll essentially be an adapter for the larger size. The other way is to use a more secure method and also offer a deeper insertion if it's needed. In my case the second option is best for me.

Now to the point of what they actually do aside from better isolation... To my ears they actually increase soundstage by giving more of a tunnel for the sound to travel being that the mouth is so wide similar to how the spinfits work. As for sound I find the bass to be the best period of any tip, even Westone foam tips (which tend to muffle the highs). Bass is more impactful without being bloated and mid-bass stays tame like usual. Mids are smooth as well but don't seem to change much aside from larger soundstage over other tips. As for the highs I notice it opens up and takes advantage of the blue tips best of all. It extends very well and nothing is cut off or blocked due to every other tip I've tried. It seems that more of the sound gets through and would be a very close step closer towards custom made tips.

PM or Quote me if you want more info or have any more questions. I've done a lot of tip experimentation and no two ears are the same but to me these triple flanges sound the best out there by far.

Thanks bro!

Is anyone using SE 845 with chord mojo and iphone? How is the sound inpression with chord mojo ? Please let me know :D

The Mojo and the 846 have a very nice synergy. I use the Mojo to stream Tidal lossless tracks and a few high res files I have stored on my 6s which I use the KaiserTone app to playback. To me the Mojo's slight richness and warmth is a nice complement to the 846.

I tried this at a local distributor store a while back with my iPhone 6S, it sounded AMAZING. The soundstage was very expansive and had an amazing depth to it, while the details were not lacking a bit. It was a surprisingly good combination.

Agreed :) The 846 had a soundstage with great potential and the Mojo raised this potential, resulting in a surprisingly good combination between the two.

The Mojo has got a small soundstage to be honest. But it's bigger than the iPhone 6S plus.

In terms of soundstage width, the Shure SE846 is the same as the HD 650 so it's not bad.

Any closed cans which would be similar to the 846 with bright filter? I bought Ultrasone Signature pro and I will return them.

I have the Akt5p with Shure Srh1540 pads and they are similar on sound. Also the Fostex TH600 and TH900 have a bright yet visceral bass.

I have all 3 and they are my favorite full size cans period.
