You can contact LArry at headphile.com or pm him (His user ID is Xanadu777). I'd send you my Blacksilvers but I am in dire need of them at this time. Probably after the NY meet.

On Budget Interconnects
1. Grover Silver Reference - Hirsh/Grover
2. Bogdan Silver Princess - Anyone up for lending a pair out? (very curious about these)
3. RS Audio Solid Silver - Hajime
4. Headphile Blacksilvers - Maybe Larry, depending on his response
5. Alpha-core micro purl silver - ?

Over Budget Interconnects
1. Homegrown Audio Silver Lace - Hirsch
2. Bogdan Silver Sprit Reference - Hirsch

I'm a big fan of the Grover SRs and also like the Bogdan BSSRs on my analog front end (so i suspect I might like the princesses).

But I also tried a silver cable today at a professors house that might be worth looking into. We only A/Bed it with a cheap Audioquest cable, but it was leaps and bounds above it.

It's another DIYFSE cable, but comes with a satisfaction guarentee. I'd check it out if I were on a budget. Very descent between his phonostage and acurus amp.

Interesting. I've written them about getting a demo pair.

very cool hirsh! I wasn't terribly familiar with the system I was listening on, but they made for a large improvement in tonality along with doing a good job soundstaging and with pretty good imaging.

I've tried some more affrodable silver cables which did a lousy job w/ imaging on MY two channel rig but had a plesant signature (ie. HGA Silver Lace & earlier Grover models) but, atleast in my admittedly limited time with these, they didn't display those symptoms.

I'm very interested to hear what a cable connesiour has to say! Keep us posted.

If you're going the route of Headphile i'd definitely use the XRS... it's the whole "No Interconnect as reference point" thing

I think they may be a little outisde your price range though, but not by much. Just my 2 cents.

I've known the head honcho at Stout for a while, he's been in the business for years. I tried to convince him to make some cooler looking ICs, but he continues to make humble ones in order to keep em cheap. Most of the ICs and Speaker cables are silver plated copper, but he can make pure silver ones for you if you ask. Also his partner Suzy sells on Ebay so you can easily find them there.

Looks like some good choices. I can vouch for the Silver Lace, I owned a .5 meter pair for some time (they used to be Hirsch's cables!) and they were a favorite. My current IC's are by Ack! Industries and they go for $135 a meter pair which beat out my Silver Lace - and is why I sold them.

OK, the Stout SB series interconnects are inbound, and should be here in a few days.

Someone should include the New Moon Silver Dragon IC's to any cable shootout in the works. Their 99.99% pure silver formula should provide some exciting & dynamic sound---even without adequate burn-in.

The Silver Dragons are more than twice as much as Pirate is willing to spend. The silver version of the Blue Dragon at $130 (for 3 ft.) is reasonably close to the $100 limit, though. I wonder if Drew would send a pair out for audition.
