Yes, and sounds awesome, every time! I've been burning money on HD Tape Transfers of old jazz...

Now you just have to shut up about the E.A.R. 4 or you'll ruin me!

I have just received a Studio Six which i have been testing for the last few hours...

Beautiful? That is all i can think of at the moment.. on my HD800's and LCD-3's..

I got both Mullard and sylvania OB2's included in the box - what would you class the sound difference between them as?

I found the Mullards brought a more silky presentation to the sound (which has its time and place for me)

while the Sylvania's brought about more immediacy, the transient attack sounded more aggressive, but not overly-so.

It depends on your music preference!

I play a great deal of underground electronic music and found-sounds music - so I stayed with the Sylvania's for longer.

But I love the Mullards for acoustic music, especially jazz and singer/songwriter stuff!

I ended up always balancing off the sound of the OB2s with the 6V6s and vice versa.

This will do it for now: GE red base (black plates), French 6K6, Military CV1833, Mullard metal base. It doesn't sound like I'm trading off dynamics and smoothness any longer with the HD-800s.

Nice! The red base 5692 is the best I've heard of the 6SN7 variety...it's an RCA rebadged as a GE...enjoy!
