Not at all possible. For sure! Sometimes, my mum already reminds me "you are still young, you don't need good headphones" although I disagree with her because there's no age limit to enjoy good music AT LOW VOLUME (to be clear, I hate loud music) but have never said it out xD

I guess iBasso DX90 + Seagate hard drive > TUBE AMP > H6 / Annie. But I doubt I would want the Annie as I go further deep down the road, more to explore!! Not gonna stop reviewing though hehe... I think I got addicted typing and sharing my love (be it good or bad) story about my audio rigs hehe

You're getting a dx90 as well?

RWAK100-USD 850

Carat Topaz- USD 350

SRH1540- USD 500

I could have gotten a HD800+semi decent amp. Did I make a wrong choice buying all this? Should I just shoot for HD800?

Yeah... well the RWAK100 is ridiculously overpriced for what it is. The dx90 sounds better than the ak120 based off of memory. I dunno much about the carat topaz so I can say much about it. Haven't heard the SRH1540 either. But if you love the UERMs, then there is a  very high chance that you will like the hd800s. I'd recommend getting a Vali or a HPA-2 and then spending the rest of the money on a decent dac.

If anything, I might sell the RWAK and SRH1540, and just get a HD800. Used HD800 go for $800-1000, right? If I sell my RWAK for $500 and SRH1540 for $350, I could get a HD800. Since I have a AK10, I have something decent for UERM, so I probably won't need a DAP. Also, the Topaz might cut it for DAC(it actually has a really good dac), so I just need a decent amp.

Should I do it? Should I? Ugh. This is so annoying. I could also get LCD2... Damn.

You know what? I'm just going to sell my RWAK100 and 1540.

Used hd800s are more around 1000-1100 depending on condition. You'd be lucky to find one under 1k. Don't get the LCD2s please, you're better off with one of LFF's headphones (Ahh I didn't tell you, but I have the Enigmas!).

The hd800 is a big investment to make. It is such a picky beast and will chew apart low quality equipment. Do some research on the Anax 2.0 mod as well; I could send you the materials to make the mod if you're interested.

Honestly I'm still contemplating going with a UERM-only setup. The Gungnir + uha-6s (ADA4627) combo sounds so damn good with the UERMs! Then i'd probably get some speakers too.

Lol. Us audiophiles are crazy. I can cover extra $200 or so if needed to purchase one. But If I'm spending 1k on a headphone, I need more research. I spent 20+hrs to decide on a UERM. I'll probably spend 10+hrs pondering which hp to get. Audeze, Senns, Fostex, AT, Beyer, Oppo, hifiman, akg...

Oh, btw, why are you against the lcd2? Nowadays, I'm seeking something to complement the UERM with warm and strong subbass, so that's why I mentioned LCD.

Simply because there are so many better options over the LCD2. The LFF Enigma's would fit the bill very nicely. I'm sure the he-560 would too, even though it leans more towards the neutral side. Oppo doesn't seem like a good option either; I may have a chance to try them out through a friend soon, if we get to meet up. Might as well just get a warm sounding CIEM over the lcd2s imo. I had a chance to try them out for a week and they didn''t impress me at all.

Hmm... I see. I was also looking at JH13, as I really liked it's sub bass, or even a um mentor(which I've never heard). I guess it's more research time. But inform me if you have any other suggestions :p thanks!

Well if you're interested in trying the Enigmas, I don't mind sending them over to you sometime. I have a friend in Ohio who wants to try them out as well so when he has some money to pay for shipping maybe we can do a mini-tour between you two. Unless you're going back to Korea sometime in the near future.
