Got mine used (the box is like NEW, and the unit... Like never been touched before) for BND350... That's the same price as the K702 I believe xD btw, there's the K712Pro if at all...

I agree with @Mad Lust Envy that the E07K sound somewhat better for the Annie than E09K... Gonna listen into more detail tomorrow and decide xD

Huh? When did I say that? I never even heard the E07k...

Thanks.

And no, the E7/E17 are too weak to bring out the Annie's potential. The E9K is a better choice.

I set mine [E07K] to 12dB gain... they sound great... am now doing a serious comparison to E09K [last night was low gain, today I tested it with high gain just for fun...]

Instruments are better separated and everything sound more lively...

It's surprising to see there's no damping issue with the E09K + Annie pairing!

So I got my cable yesterday. It seemed to have tamed the hd800's treble and now I am back to using the neutral rings. There's a perfect balance in bass, mids, and treble now with the Zu cable and the neutral anax 2.0 rings.

The only true upgrade to the hd800s are the sr-009s, which will cost upwards of $10k for the headphones and amp. Even then, the hd800s will still excel in soundstage and imaging. Last night I listened to the live version of Hotel California from Hell Freezes Over and I was amazed by the hd800's imaging capabilities. It made me feel like I was part of the audience; I was able to pinpoint where each instrument was coming from, and plus I was able to feel that the audience was clapping right next to me as I listened.

That being said, the rest of the headphones in the $1000-$2000 range are really just side-grades, with different flavors. Sacrificing one strength for another's. I don't see myself wanting a HE-6, Audeze, or T1 any time over the HD800s.

HD800... must have. But I want a TH600 as well!

But $1000..... when will I ever get that much money? I will have to sell AK100 and Leckerton and H-200 and MDR7550 to fund for a single HD800....

Played some games yesterday with my AKG Annie... it's pretty good... How I wish this thing have slightly wider soundstage for some of my tracks... otherwise, it's a very nice headphone especially for what I paid for.

My mum who do not like headphones neither is she a fan of speaker listened to my AKG Annie two nights ago... SHE ENJOYED IT! For the first time D:
